As I was working this, I thought there were 4 parrots. Imagine my surprise when I finished, to find that there were 5 parrots in the picture. Love their vibrant colors.
They are beautiful birds. Right before the Covid hit my son was visiting. We were going through the downtown stores. I looked over and said there is a bird on that man's shoulder. He was sitting at a table with some other men. He heard me and came over and asked if wanted a picture of it with us. I am pretty sure he said it was a McCaw. He said it was 30 years old. He lived just up the street and I am sure he would come just to visit with his friends. He put it on my shoulder and used my son's camera. Then he held it over my head and made a motion and the bird spread it's wings. He took several and I am so glad he did. He wouldn't take any money. He just liked to do that for people. What a special man.

Today would have been my mothers birthday. She passed away in March 2005 when she was 93. At least I had her for many good years and she lived with me the last 10 years.
