It seams to me it is sew important to put things back together, repair or make something you created that I can't imagine not being able to make do with what I have. Skills are what you observe or try on your own till you are successful.
Rpayne14 I just zipped through the comments and you cut right to the heart of the matter. I will try to remember to stitch together what I already have - to create something new!
Wish I had gotten the sewing gene. I can't even thread a needle without stabbing myself. I simply LOVE the tailor who now does a great job and saved me from making a mess of things. Goodbye needle and thread!!! ~. ~
I made all my own clothes growing up, combining patterns and fabrics into completely new styles, and now - I pay for someone else to do it for me, too! Even simple alterations, like adjusting a hem, hold no interest for me. A benefit of old age, perhaps?

Maybe a benefit or two. I just had different things I wanted to do, and I'm into volunteering right now. Three days a week I work at my local library and just love it. I've been there 15 yrs. and will continue until my body rebels, or my brain does. Ha Ha.
