That was notable. In fact it blew me away. I suppose the key to doing well is being able to keep up the tempo. I had hoped to be sharp but fell flat.

The clarinet is a lovely instrument as long as anyone plays it well. During the Big Band Era, it had the nickname of a "licorice stick." Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Woody Herman, Artie Shaw, and Lester Young were all great jazz and big band clarinet players.
My sister used to play the flute and not the clarinet.

My granddaughter was taking lessons but gave it up. She does not know what she wants. So far soccer is her thing.At 13, she still has a lot of things she can try.
I never liked clarinet but had to take a course to learn to play it. I tried and tried but couldn't find the right embrachure to get a sound from it. We had to play in front of the class and there I stood fingering the keys in complete silence as my face turned red from the effort. The teacher took pity and talked me through forming my mouth and I played it perfectly. I still hate the clarinet.
