I need prayers for my 12 year old granddaughter Alicia. Her best friend from school died in a 4-wheeler accident over the week-end. He was also only 12. The last thing he said to Alicia was he would see her on Monday. And this was Friday before the accident. She is supposed to be going to his funeral today and the poor kid has so many guilt feelings inside. She says she wished she had been a better friend, knew him better, and just so many mixed emotions. I am trying to help her through this as is her mom and dad. My son understands what she is gong through and so does my daughter-in-law. This poor kid has been dealing with death since she was 4. Her uncle, my son, died 2 days before her 6th birthday, her grandma, and her Grandpa Jack passed away when she was so young. I want to hold her and comfort her but we are so far from each other. I also need prayers for the young man's family as well. This all happened near Butler, PA in Slippery Rock. The entire middle school has been in such a turmoil especially being so close to the Holidays. Please keep both of these families in prayers. I know you all have things going on yourselves, but this is one thing I really need. Thank you and God bless you all.

Mamag15, it's so hard for young people to cope with death, whether it's from illness or accident. I send my prayers that her sorrow may ease and also prayers for you, to give you the strength to help her and carry on.

Thank you aknan also. God bless you too my Dear. I talked to her last night and she seems to be a little better. She is a strong young lady and I know my Alicia will be okay. I still feel so sad for the family. Have a blessed week-end.

I am originally from PA [Oil City]. My heart goes out to that family - and prayers, too. I understand that it happened almost 2 months ago, but it still takes awhile to work through grief.

Thank you PArsonWayne. Alicia has been dong better in the last few months. She still finds herself grieving but is taking it a better. The family of that young man s trying to move forward but, like me after losing a son, is still struggling, especially the mom. They have a long hard road ahead of them and they will never fully recover from such a travesty. I know I find myself grieving for myself and other families as well. There is a line n the movie, "Lord of the Rings" where he says, "No parent should have to bury their child". I still cringe when hear that. Thank you for your prayers and we need to keep praying for all the families in our situation., No parent should have to bury their child.

Thank you Theresa. A dear sweet friend of mine from church just lost her two sons a week apart from each other. We are having a candle light vigil soon for parents who have lost children no matter their age. Mine was 21, Carolyn's was 50 and I am not sure how old the other one is. I will post the candle lighting as soon as I get the information. It is through Compassionate Friends. They have been a life saver for me. It just does not seem to end. Thank you again Miss Theresa,.God bless you for caring. My granddaughter is doing a lot better, has a new boyfriend and doing good in school. She made honor roll this past semester. I am so proud of her. Thank you Miss Theresa. God bless you for caring.

It will soon be the one year anniversary of that young man;s passing. I hope someone sends a card to the family. I know a little bit of what it is like to lose people early in life. When I was 5 years old, I lost my maternal grandfather, maternal grandmother, and baby brother within 6 months. It takes awhile to get over the grief. 1 year anniversaries are great times to remember our friends we've lost. We do that at church on the Sunday closest to All-Saints Day [November 1st].

Thank you Parson Wayne. The first year is always the hardest when we lose someone we love. Even after 7 Holidays without my son, I still find it hard sometimes. I pray for the families who are struggling this time of year. I am so sorry for your losses as well. It is always good to know we do not have to suffer alone. God bless you for your concerns.

Had the scan on my leg today and have to wait until I go to the doctor to get the results. However, have another temperature tonight, so obviously something's wrong.

Happy Christmas everyone. God bless you and hugs.

I had a friend who would wrap packages with no names on them for her kids, I asked how did she know who they were for? She said that all of the blue ones would be for one kid, the next print for a different kid, etc. But until Christmas no one knew whose packages was for whom. Pretty tricky

One year my husband also wrapped packages in birthday paper and also in plain brown paper just to keep me guessing. When I asked about the birthday paper, as we had plenty of Christmas paper, he said whose birthday do you think this is! He did have a point, that was the reason for the season, should have more birthday presents under the tree.

I have a friend who's b-day IS Christmas...one year after getting all of her b-day presents wrapped in Christmas paper, she did the same for the rest of the family, all year long...they took the hint! ;-)
