The best time to see Phoenix is around February when the wildflowers bloom and of course, in May when the Suguaro and the Palo Verde and the Ironwood trees bloom. I love the desert for it's mountains, hills and history.

If you've never been to the Sonoran Desert I highly recommend it! It's beautiful to see the cacti growing wild on the mountains.

It is absolutely awe-filled. The Sonoran Desert Museum (it may be a national park or monument by now) outside of Tucson is a great way to understand the desert environment and all of its denizens.
