Went shopping again. I chose a piece of crocheting up close. It had lots of pretty colored stripes.
Cornbread was one of my husband's favorites. We especilly like it with beef stew but sometimes had it with syrup on its own. Neither of us can eat it any more.

My family has always lived in northeast Florida. I've had cornbread for breakfast many times, but have never heard of putting syrup on it. That sounds a nasty as putting sugar on grits.

I've always been a New Englander, so cornbread was something we served with chili. When I took my kids to a local farm to watch maple syrup being tapped from trees, it was served to us on cornbread afterward. It was great!
