I'm drinking hazelnut hot cocoa right now. Yesterday morning 68, this morning 28. Funny to have a box of winter clothes for just a few days per year.

Elijah and manatee, that's Florida winter for you. We get two weeks of winter spread out over a couple of months!

In our minuses and low teens, finally stopped snowing for a little while. It has't stopped for two days straight. I'm in central Oregon in the high desert.

That sounds like where I live. 30 this morning, in the 50s now, and 78 by Thursday. Welcome to Houston, Texas.

You have had lots of rain. Our area never seems to get rain. We say that we are "in a pocket". Rains around us, but never on us and grass is showing it. In the winter, we are allowed to only water once a week--odd numbers on Saturdays, even numbers on Sunday. During the summer, they add Wednesday or Thursdays.

Not sure that I care for al these current food serving trends, nothing like a nice dish with dessert in it and seeing a huge plate with all the food piled up in the middle - where do they get these ideas.

Norman Wisdom

"Nobody gets to live life backward. Look ahead, that is where your future lies." — Ann Landers

Take care and God bless. Hugs.

I don't usually go for unusual serving containers but for Christmas I made individual sugarfree parfaits for the diabetics. They loved it.

I love the quote from Ann Landers. I try to look forward but every once in awhile I find myself looking at my past and it was not a pretty picture. I pray my forward is better.
How are you feeling? I am still a little stuffy but feeling better. Hubby is still having breathing troubles. Have a wonderful evening.

Why in tarnation did we (humans in general) think when we stopped working hard to raise our food we still had to eat as if we were burning just as many calories sitting behind a desk earning the money to buy the food someone else burned calories to raise? Did that make sense? Just thinking of those big plates heaped full. Bless you, aussie.

Nlb, I think it's because food tastes so good and, in many ways, is a comfort to us.

Mamag, left with a cough as a result of the bronchitis, but it is getting better. Have an appointment with the doctor to see what is happening in another area, probably tell me it is old age lol and he is 88!!! Hugs.

I used non-dairy creamer and sugar-free pudding. I layered it in a clear cup. It looked fancy compared to putting a bowl of sugar-free pudding on the table. Bonus : the cups were portioned correctly so counting carbs was easy.

, /I use to go in big time putting just the right ribbon around each cup etc. I love fancy tableware and planning for "teas" etc but now I don't have the strength to do all the fussy stuff.

My son "The Chef" just stopped in on his way to church with a big container of potato soup. He makes it more like a chowder and it is simply delicious. He's so good with spices etc.
It is only -6 today and so quiet and cold. That soup will taste really good.
I'll have to brag a bit and tell you I have three of the most thoughtful sons ever. They all live within a few miles from me and they all are so helpful. They would do anything for me. I had a daughter too who passed away about eleven years ago. She was my best friend and I sure miss her.
Enjoy this day everyone and God bless you all.
