Looks so remote and cold.

Reminds me of airplane "garages" in Alaska. Seaplanes pull up and are stored at water's edge.

Another beautiful red barn - wonder why so many of them were painted red. I know there is nearly always something red in restaurants, because the colour red makes you salivate and eat more lol.

Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't.

Always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys them so much.

Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.
- Mark Twain

LOL - good one Mr Twain. Take care and God bless. Hugs.

Most of the barns were and are painted red because that was the cheapest paint. Love the quotes, AS.

The color red is also said to look better with food than many other colors.

I can't remember what the settlers made paint from but I do remember the cheaper paint used on the outbuildings used dirt as one ingredient and the iron in the ground around them colored it red. That is why most outbuildings were painted red.

I disagree with Mark Twain. Naked people might have an influence on other nudists. Might even persuade some of them to decide to leave that lifestyle, lol.

Boat Barn is an unusual name for it, but it works! Easy puzzle. Hurricane over--did not lose electric. Finally lost cable. Not much debree. I din't think wind was that bad.

As I sit here in sunshine and hardly a wisp of wind, it's hard to imagine those of you on the East coast yet right here in my living room have just gone through such horrific weather..Praise God you made it through fine. Hope the others did as well.

Got thru it fine. No big stuff from the trees--twigs, etc. My niece and her husband are coming over to blow my back walk. I have someone coming next week to blow my back room which is flat. Putting things back in place little by little. Age plays a factor in doing this! The wind I thought was no worse than some of our thunderstorms. However, it stayed a bit more off shore than they first predicted. All is well here. Thanks for thinking of us.

Let's get out the boat, float down river and drop a line in the water. If we don't put a hook on the line we won't have a problem with those pesky fish disturbing our quiet time with one another and God. The perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Rick Springsteen had a song about it - "Barn in the U.S.A." They are often used to store boats during the winter - on Stall-id ground.
