Boy are those ever some interesting long horns on that blackbuck antelope. Looks like its going to do something with that tail up like that if its anything like the deer in my yard, lol. Sorry about my sense of humor, couldn't help myself!!!

Your flowers must grow well!

Hahaha. Pixi my flowers would grow well if they would move over a little and land it there. They like to land it everywhere I don't want it. Wish I could let them in my garden so they would land it in there but had to fence them out of it as they were eating all my fruit trees & berries to the point of not growing. My fruit trees have grown and also a lot are bearing now since they cant get in. They are pretty but do a lot of damage and the bucks are worse then the does and very bold too, don't trust them. Deer here every day & they are bringing more & more of their friends. Seems like its pay back since they cant get in garden anymore!

Deer are very destructive. A fellow who had an animal rescue license had rescued three baby deer when their mother was shot. He would whistle and they would run from the woods to be bottle fed by the man. When they grew up they did not have a fear of humans and went into town and raided every one's gardens. The folk were furious and I think eventually shot them. So sad there's no way to train them. I used wildcat urine on strips of underwear because it looked like they had decided my yard was a good path and there were nice snacks along the way. It may have worked or it may have been a marmot that also had taken up residence. hard to say.

Dbnc2 are you saying that the marigolds kept deer out of your nieces garden or some other animal?

Deer
she put a row down the out side and put a plant at the ends of each row
they didn't bother her garden as much as they had before

Thanks for answering dbnc2. I have never heard of that before but I can grow marigolds here but haven't done it in years so I will be trying that. I wonder if its the smell the deer don't like? We are over run by deer here and a lot of the problem is people feed them so they have no reason to leave. Thank-you for the information.
How is your sister doing now? Hope she is feeling better!

If there are apple trees around they are a deer magnet.
I've never heard about marigolds for keeping deer away but they say it's good for keeping bugs off tomato plants so maybe it is a smell thing. I wonder if you can take some of the plant and put it in a blender then add water and spry it on the plants you want to keep the deer off of.

Pixipixil yes I found out how much deer love apple trees as they congregate under them and will get on their hind legs once they have ate all the lower apples to get to the upper ones. They are here every day and destroy everything. With the neighbors feeding them it makes it even worse. I am going to have to have one of my sons come in spring to fence those trees in as its too cold now and ground is froze. The deer are the biggest pests ever in this area and there are too many of them. They were even worse than usual this year and even ate flowers they had never touched before till this year.
I like your idea about blending the marigolds with water and spraying the plants. Think I will add tabasco to it too as they hate the hot stuff too. Went through a lot of cayenne this year also.

Interesting looking creature. Can anyone tell me why the antlers are spirals?

God bless you all today and every day.

Maybe when God created this antelope it bounded off while it's antlers were still wet and as it sped along the antlers twisted in the wind. :)
