When we arrived in Jamaica after a wonderful cruise, our flight to Boston was delayed about 10 hours. There was some grumbling until the airline/cruiseline announced they had made arrangements with a resort to welcome us for the day. We spent the most wonderful, relaxing day by the pool and the adjacent beach and ocean. There was a room reserved where we could change into bathing suits and shower afterward. We were served snacks and a meal poolside. It was lovely! Be slow to grumble because you might not need to!!!
I had a fortunate event like that happen to us. We were bumped off a flight to DC. It was a short vacation so losing a day was a big loss BUT...we got free airlinetickets to anywhere in the USA so I booked to Colorado and that was one of the best vacations we ever took.
