I agree, and I'll leave the lettuce off, too. Bagels can be a little tough, especially if you let them cool too long after toasting, but I love them anyway.

I have discovered bagel thins. They taste like bagels but don't get tough like their fatter brothers. Much easier for me to eat.

Those are good, too, especially if you're counting carbs.
Looks tasty, although sometimes, I just like a heated salt bagel - they taste like a hot pretzel, or a toasted bagel with plain cream cheese and preserves or flavored cream cheese.
That seemed a bit difficult for me, but they all have been that way lately. Not a fast one in the bunch! But they have all been fun and I love being able to hide away in my office/laundry room and veg out at the computer. My caregiver has gone to visit family for 2 weeks and I am quite alone. I am really enjoying it. Not only am I free to do what I want without regard to his work schedule, I have his car to run around in too! How much trouble do you think I can get into? I'm even feeling well enough to enjoy it.
