Beautiful in every way. I see I did this one six years ago. My husdand was still alive and we were planning to go back again in the fall to once again drive the Kancamagus Hwy and hike one of the falls stops. We never got back. He died May 1. 2021.
This is a gorgeous view. It's interesting to read the comments from retirenow14 and pixipixil, about traveling and seeing the sights. Not so many folks traveling now unless it's absolutely necessary. I've seen more planes in the air this week than I have in a couple of months. Some places are trying to open, but I'm in a lockdown county and I want to be safe. Hope all of you are staying safe as well.
This is the exact time that Vermont's foliage is worth viewing. While touring the beautiful countryside, head for Shelburne. What a neat museum is in that town! Many incredibly restored old and new buildings housing the antiquities of the Vermont past. A ticket gives you a two consecutive day pass to the grounds. Well worth the admission fee.
Heading through Vermont to New Hampshire and Maine for a few days next week. Never been there, but will love the various "notch" parks along the way.
Was working on a painting of a scene similar to this in the Catskills yesterday. Will be able to finish the foreground without the long trip--just fields of dry grass and goldenrod. Plenty of that nearby.

I am back to upstate NY, north of Binghamton. Hubby and I went to Shelburne, VT to the wonderful museum. Truly impressive showing of hooked wool art in the main building. They are having the grand opening of that showing this weekend, I think. Check their website to see examples of the artist's work. I have never seen this kind of art before. The lack of color change in the leaves was a disappointment, however. Maybe the cold weather will create a change by the end of the first week in October. But a visit to Vermont is never wasted, as the people, food, shopping, and experiences are top notch.

That happened to us last year. We went to the "Vermont Grand Canyon." It was nice but scarcely grand. It's just past Woodstock. I was hoping to see the shops there and visit a raptor preserve nearby but there wasn't time.
Haven't been to the Shelburne. We had to do an original design hooked rug when I was a senior in HS. Wow did it take a long time to do! I don't have it any more.

Hi retirenow. It's been a year since our trip and we had a wonderful time. We went to Franconia Notch Park in NH then drove the Kancamagus Parkway to Mt Washington. I hope to someday go back. We were lucky with the color. When we arrived there wasn't much but it rained overnight the first night of our stay and suddenly all the trees started to turn. By the third day we had high fall and the ride along the parkway was spectacular. I highly recommend seeing the park and driving the highway. The park was amidst wonderfully Rockies-like mountains and had two lakes, a waterfall and gorge, a smaller cascade into a round basin like a huge hot tub under a huge boulder overhang, an exhibit of the man in the mountain cited by Longfellow in a poem and many trails. We drove through Vermont but never got to the museum. The drive was a bit too long for any lenghthy stop. It could be something on another visit, tho. Thank you for pointing it out.

I LOVE this puzzle. Came to it around this time last year. There is little that can top the beauty of fall in the mountains. I hope someday everyone will have a chance to se a scene as lovely as this.
