My favorite vegetable. I remember that when I was a little kid I thought it was truly amazing to see it growing wild along the side of the road in Colorado. At today's prices, that is still truly amazing!
Ham, scalloped potatoes, and asparagus are for Easter dinner and are essential. OK to add some other trimmings, but it is imperative that the original three are served!
Mom would fix us canned asparagus growing up and I would always get the woody pieces and would gag. Haven't been brave enough to try it as an adult, even though I expect that fresh is quite different from canned.
Yes, I too like asparagus. My husband really liked it so I would buy 10 to 15 lbs, in spring and steam it and then freze it so we could have it for months. Do do that anymore and I like it raw with a little humus. great puzzle.
Just had some fresh asparagus last night. Just boil for 3 minutes in about 1 inch of water, take out of water, pour a little lime juice on top and add a little kosher or sea salt. Easy and so very good.
Oh, you MUST try!!!! They are SO delicious, BUT, a warning....they make your urine have a very strong, strange odor almost immediately after eating and for a few hours after!!! Wouldn't want you to be alarmed!

My mom used to fix it every time we came for a visit, she would forget that it was my brother liked it but I didn't. My daughter just loves it, she didn't get that from here.
