Never have had apple muffins. Look good.

Look how clean that cupcake pan is and no paper sleeves around the muffins. How do you get off the grease? I have looked up and tried several antidotes for burnt on grease including the eraser but nothing gets it off.
Wishing you a day where your elbow grease does the job.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they put the baked muffins into a brand new pan! I've never been able to get that grease off either. I hope someone posts a good home made solution!

This was probably the first time that pan has been used.

Probably those are the first muffins that were ever baked in that muffin pan.

Spic-N-Span: Let the pan soak in water 'rich' with it. It will still take some elbow grease, but it will come off. ;-)

I've used oven cleaner, following the directions on the container and putting the muffin tin in the oven for a few minutes. Wash well afterwards. Doesn't work on coated pans, however. Now, I just use the thing anyway, regardless of looks.

Thanks kjd. I'll try it.

I figure that 80% of those trying to clean such baked on stains just give up and use them after they have been cleaned as well as they can. If you can't get it cleaner, what is the possibility of the discoloration coming out into the baked product?

I've never had a problem like that, retirenow14, so I'm assuming it's a slim chance.

I line my pans with aluminum foil and keep using them. In spite of the foil the pans keep getting more grease burn on. Who can figure it?

I do too, but, I'm not that fond of baked apples. I prefer them fresh - I guess that's because we had 3 apple trees in our yard of the house where I grew up.

But blueberry muffins, cherry muffins, banana nut, chocolate, etc., muffins, I'm all over those. Yum...

Are blueberries rare in Greece?

Not so rare but a bit expensive...I miss Manchester because we used to go to a cafe and they had the best blueberry muffins ever...

Yeah, they don't seem to be the cheapest fruit available. I think it was several years ago in Congress, someone used the price of blueberries as a reason to increase Social Security - so people's grandmothers could afford to make blueberry muffins. I don't remember if it worked or not, but, I think it's a valid reason.

Anything from King Arthur Flour is fabulous, in my opinion. And anyone who takes even the slightest joy in baking NEEDS their Baker's Companion!

The puzzle was harder than I expected it to be, but at least I accomplished the final piece.
