Sorry to hear about your car troubles! I had two accidents on the same day one year. The day after xmas. Someone backed into me in the parking lot. I wasn't even in the car. Then on my way home someone failed to yield. I couldn't drive the car. I called my sister and she says yeah dad told me. I had to tell guess what I'm in another accident. She says omg what happened and told her he pulled out infront of me. Her kids were crying because they were worried about me.

This can be a very nice-sounding musical instrument. It's all accordion to how it's played.

Having good coordination is the key. Trying to keep your fingers in place while you squeeze and open the bellows isn't easy..worse than rubbing your belly and patting your head. Maybe it should be called an acoordination.

I use to own a Honda Accord, until someone rear-ended it. After that, I had a Honda Accordion. True story.

Sorry about the accident, rahrah, but you at least got a good pun out of it. Hope you also got a good car replacement.

Oh my gosh!! That is just way too funny!! Sorry about your car but this is just WOW!!!!! We just got rear-ended yesterday after church. Ours is a Ford Fusion. The body repair shop has to re-fuse it back together if the insurance company doesn't refuse to pay for the damages.

Wow. So many accidents in our group. My beloved Betsy the Buick was body-slammed by an SUV last week, and now I have to find a HUGE iron to take care of the wrinkles. Now she has as many wrinkles as her owner. And "I" can't pass the BUCK because I was in the middle of the Buick.

If they do refuse will it beocome refuse? That would be a shame. There's too much cargage around as it is.

We are all having a bad car week. Thank God no one was hurt. Vehicles can be replaced, people cannot.
My car is repairable and we are getting an estimate from the insurance company with the guy who hit us.

Hope your car estimate from the insurance company is as spot on as your estimate of what's important mamag. Glad nobody was hurt.

Pixi, you could also have used the word car-nage.

ParsonWayne, I don't think I've ever known anyone as punny as you!
I hope all the accidents turn out to be blessings for everyone. God can do that...oh yes, He can! :)

Just don't become too shifty, pixi, or get high too soon. Start out low.

Someone once commented that I always want to have the last word. I told her, "That's not true." She walked away shaking her head. I hope she doesn't have anything loose up there.

That made me laugh. Not about getting high which I never and would never do except in spirit and not spirits.
Perhaps your friend is trying to shake loose an idea that gives her the last word someday. Doesn't sound like she shook hard enough. I'm good with each of us trying for the last word...that way the conversation will continue.

I would never try to get in the last word. It reminds me of when Dagwood and Blondie were having an argument and he said, "Now I have gotten in the last word." and she replied, "No you didn't. That is just the start of a new argument." :-)))

Apparently you don't like cheese, pixi, because "Beggars can't be cheesers."

It isn't that I don't like cheese. I just can't eat it because I'm an underacheeser.

There should be a punctuation mark for laughing instead of lol That would be true pun-ctuation.

Prayer time please. My niece, mid forties has just been diagnosed with liver cancer. There is nothing they can do except a transplant. Because she has been an alcoholic for much of her life, she cannot even get on a waiting list until she is sober for a certain length of time. My sister, her mother, is a brittle diabetic who is already living on "borrowed time" as the saying goes. She has lived much longer than they ever thought she would but this could easily kill her before it does my niece. And the dominoes would continue to fall. My son-in-law survived swine flue several years back after spending four months on life support. He is so emotionally and physically dependent on my sister that if something happened to her he would go very soon after. I know this is all speculation and worse case scenario and God can fix it all in a heartbeat. And that is why I am asking you all to join me in prayer. Thank you and God bless you all.

Aknan, it would seem you are right but there must be someone in the family who has not yet learned to lean on His help. Without His strength I would never have made it this far. Just to make life a little more interesting, my daughter is having neck surgery a week from Friday and will be staying with me for her recovery. More prayers please? I will ask "the community at large" next week.

Although accordions are often considered nerdy, polka instruments, they are also used in other types of music like zydeco, Cajun music from Louisiana that's very lively.

Do you play one, Jamie T? You seem to know about them.
A friend lent me his to try. It was too big for me, but I liked trying it.

No, I don't. I had a toy organ as a kid and could play ok with my right hand. The church I attended as a kid had a teenager who did occasionally play an accordion during service and, as an adult, I would occasionally go to a Cajun restaurant where a zydeco band would play.

I was in a talent contest and me and an accordion player tied for first. I've never heard a zydeco band. Guess I'll have to youtube for one to hear it.

Coming from a German family, guess what instrument I had to take lessons on? Think I was around 10 or so, and when guests came over, Mom would make me play "Lady of Spain" for them. Groan...Really wanted to learn to play piano. Oh well. Sold the darn thing when I was 17 to finance a trip to Calif.
