I would love to find a field of flowers where I can lie down, and just look up at the clouds and thank God for all the beauty He has created.

That sounds wonderful. I would love just to be still for five minutes. Since school started here and I am back at work, everything seems to be in a rush and I am constantly trying to catch up!

I know the feeling Olamae. Just take one step at a time and do not forget to breathe and take time for yourself. Let God bless you with His love and gentleness.

One of the few yellow flowers I love. The huge flower is actually a huge group of flowers (see below copied from the flower expert site)
The flower is actually a head (formerly composite flower) of numerous flowers crowded together. The outer flowers on the Sunflower are the ray florets and can be yellow, maroon, orange, or other colors. These flowers are sterile. The flowers that fill the circular head inside the ray flowers are called disc florets.
It should be the national flower because it is like the USA--"Out of many, one."
Wishing you a day of unity with family and friends.

Now I could handle having the sunflower as our national flower. However, Benjamin Franklin's wish for the turkey to be our national bird...NO. LOL.

That's OK, pixi, just plant sunflowers all over your property and christen it your "estate" flower!

Thanks pixipixil, they did that in 1903, Ks. is my birth state, also spent about 1/2 of my life there. Not sure they will every get me to be an Okie, even it were we live there now, but I am a Thunder fan. We had 60 mph straight winds yesterday and some rain, not damage to us but lots of small limbs to pick up this morning. Just now getting on here today, & may have to get off early as we could get storms again late afternoon/early evening again today. Have a Great Day to ALL!

My favourite yellow flower is a yellow rose. If anyone close buys me roses they know not to bother with the red ones but yellow. They do have different meanings in England they are the flower of friendship but in Romania they are flower of hatred,
you give them to our enemy or some one you do not like

Peace rose is my favorite flower...my family also knows to not get me red ones...but I will take any other colors of roses. I had a great rose garden when we lived in Ks. I tried to raise them here but we have too much humidity here for many of them and are hard to keep the black spot out of them so I finally gave up.

PS. The state flower for Ok. is the Oklahoma Rose and it is a very dark red rose, almost impossible to raise here. I tried to grow one but it got black spot every time to get one started here.
