I milked a cow on Boston Common! ---- the park in the center of the city. I took my first grade class to the New England Dairy Festival and it is the custom that a cow be milked on Boston Common every year. My first graders were a bit reluctant ---- and the Festival host asked me if I would lead it off. I did. What a thrill ---- and my little ones were so proud of me!!!
Have never heard of that. Love Boston Common. In fact, that's where my father proposed to my mother! Love New England but can't afford to live there--just visit. Went to highschool in Fairhaven, MA.

It was a lovely day, The New England Dairy Council served ice cream to all the visitors and then we had a ride on the Swan Boats --- which I love!
I miss my Uncles farm too. It was my Mom's side of the family but my Aunt married a man willing to still farm. He worked full time plus had dairy cows, I loved going out in the barn to help him. Best memories of my childhood. Many many moons ago.
Got to love a cow and they sure are not stupid either. My uncle had cows and I even helped to milk and give birth to a calf. sure do miss my uncle. He was strict with us but also full of fun!
