Looks yummy - must grow some basil again and include in my salads.

We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses there is at last one which makes the heart run over. – Ray Bradbury
Never leave a friend behind. Friends are all we have to get us through this life–and they are the only things from this world that we could hope to see in the next. – Dean Koontz

Good night and God bless. Hugs.

Good morning puzzlers, hope everyone is well. Seems like it has been an extremely long week. Ed seems to be coming along ok, still has a lot of pain. The morning that Ed fell one of our kittens that showed up here about 2 months ago with her mama and little brother, was killed. She was a beautiful kitten...long, thick cream colored fur, looked just like her mama. Got to catch mama, and take her and the other kitten an orange stripped male down and get them fixed and shots. The male kitten is very friendly and allows us to pick him up...we call him " Red ". Very good quotes this morning Aussie....friendship is extremely important to me, but I am very careful with who I become friends with...maybe too careful??? All be safe and take care.

Glorious quotes on friendship, aussie! I especially like the one from Dean Koontz. I, also, love his books! Have an awfully awesome day, my friend!

Aussie Ed slipped on ice and fell, badly broke 2 ribs, bruised his whole rib cage, bruised both knees and dislocated one of his thumbs. He is not in quite as much pain. Now if I can just keep him settled down long enough to recover, he can't stand being idle. Stay safe.

P.S. was Ed's index finger not thumb. Be safe

I hope he is healing and everything will be OK. Sorry about your kitten. Loosing an animal that becomes part of your life is like loosing a member of your family. Take care, darambo.

Darambo, I think as we age, it's harder to make friends, perhaps because we've been burned in the past. All of us have a tendency to protect ourselves, but sometimes, we just have to take a chance on friendship.

Nborchardt Ed is healing slowly. He has had so many health problems over the years, broke his neck 2 times, then cancer and then heart attack on Christmas morning a few years ago. He thinks he can just heal right away and does not take his age into consideration anymore. So stubborn!!! I think we are becoming the feral cat people of La Pine, they seem to know they are safe here and will be fed and have a warm, dry place to sleep. We have to learn not to become too attached to them as they are feral. It is losing a member of our family. We have had another orange tabby show up yesterday, looks like was hit on one side of its face by someone or something. Can't get close enough to catch it and see how badly it is injured. You be safe and take care also.

Akan just as we were moving up here my best friend of 20 years died of cancer and since we have been here I have made casual friends with people and the few I thought could be more just ended up using me, which has made me a little gun shy, but I do keep trying. You are right we must never stop taking chances on friendship and you are very wise. I tend to go by my first impression and have found that it is right most all of the time. Thanks, take care and be safe my friend.

Yummy!! Love little tomatoes and olives, especially the green ones. Just don't eat them, too much salt. Have a blessed day.

Tomatoes are salty?
aknan

No, it's the olives - they're saltier than potato chips! And, of course, olives are one of my favorites...

Can't wait till spring to plant a couple tomato plants. I still buy the cherry tomatoes and large tomatoes from our local farm stands, but ours are the best. We raised them from seed, of course.

Suddenly I smell pizza baking!

Oh how I miss pizza. Used to have it every Saturday night after church. I miss being able to sing at church, too. I used to be paid for it. Now if I want to sing it has to be for free which I don't think fair after 33 years of experience and an MA in music but they pay the organist you can bet...with or without a degree or experience. Am I being selfish?

Ooooooo, a deep dish pizza would be wonderful!

If they used to pay you and now expect you to sing for free, that IS unfair.

I've never belonged to any church that pays any of the vocal or instrumentalists. If we have someone come in for a special music program, we take up a "love offering" for them. We used to give them the cash when the program was over, but the government won't let us do that any more. Now we have to count the money and present them with a check. Guess the government is afraid they won't get their cut otherwise.

Yummy vegetables. I can't wait until the weather gets warm enough this year, so my wife Jrea73 and I can get back to gardening again.
