A mystery again

The problem with a knitted jigsaw puzzle is the pieces do not keep there shape and the stitches run were it was cut not easy to put together. That's my excuse for a terrible time. This computer is heading for the dump after Christmas and I am to have a NEW one only it has to be a laptop, never used one so it will be a learning curve for me at my time of life. I am grateful for small mercies.
It is the shortest day today and at 15.00hrs it almost dark and soon the curtains will be closed.

We have both a desktop and a laptop. Becareful with buying computer equipment. I bought an Ipad and it needed repair. Went to have it fixed and it cost me more money. Should have signed up for the warranty and didn't. Now I'm out an Ipad and money. I was furious with the repair store because I was lied to and deceived. Ugh!

I look forward to the return of light! After today, we'll gain a second or three daily, then 30 minutes weekly and by mid-January, we'll begin to feel the difference in the daylight. By February, we'll be racing toward summer and long, long days of light.

I moved to a laptop 2 years ago and found that if you have a mouse and keyboard you are used to you can plug them into the USB ports and they will work. The laptop will then feel more like a desktop.

With you all the wat, aknan. Bring on the sun. It's the only thing I like about winter--the days getting longer again. January light is particularly beautiful if there's a thaw.

My eldest son lives above the arctic circle, 30 miles from Siberia. He prefers 23 hours of twilight and one hour of light to what he experiences on June 21st when it is 23 hours of daylight and 1 hour of twilight. He says he can't keep track of the time. It is often 3 AM and he realizes that he better get to bed because he has to get up in a couple of hours.

PW, my Dearly Beloved and I had a similar problem the first few years we lived here. We love to fish and would go out after work to do so. After a while, we'd look up at the sun, think it was around 8:00 pm. It was really 1:00 am, we had a 2 hour drive to get home and we start work at 4:00 a.m. We finally learned....
Quick puzzle. Only 60 degrees here now and very cloudy. In fact, I have my heat on--just to warm me up and I'm drinking hot chocolate! I know, many of you are in freezing weather and wish for 60. Stay warm. Merry Christmas!

We are threatened with a storm and they( whoever they are ) have called it Storm Barbara, what a nerve. I expect it will be a gentle breeze, Now I must leave this contraption and do some work.

It's a sunny and balmy 71 degrees here just north of Houston, Texas. It isn't Christmas-y at all. You'd feel right at home, Aussiesapphire. :)
