He's very different to what we usually see though that beak is a bit reminiscent of a Pukeko! Am off to my sons and family for a few weeks over calving = just to help our with the grandsons and house ~ not so great in the pit with milking or lifting calves! Bless you :)

I lived in the country until recently: I used to love misty mornings when the Pukekos would come stalking up the drive, appearing out of the mist and looking positively prehistoric!

They always amaze me, Jiggler - watching them strut on their long legs - quite graceful really - and then they can suddenly take off in a woosh of speed! I just wish they would stay away from the roadsides!!

I would be going crazy, missing that many days...I think I've only missed 3 days since I started, those were the three days we had no cable after the tornado. Started either late Nov or early Dec of 2011 and have loved every minute of it, and the Staff here has been great all the time! (They put up with all my dumb questions when I first started.)
