My daughter picked up lavender at a farm in Oregon and she then put the crushed lavender in nylons and I use them as sachets in my dresser. My clothes always smell so good. I also put them in my linen closet. Mmmm.

In the summer, I shower with Yardley's Lavender soap. Very nice and relaxing.

Love love love Lavender. It helps me to get back to sleep after my nightly trip across the hall lol. And it smells divine.

I put two drops of lavender essence in about 2 quarts of distilled water, then use that in my iron. (Yes, I still iron some of our clothing, but I'm old! ) I only have to do this once, then just add more distilled water when needed. Leaves a very light fragrance in the clothing. I also use a lavender balm and rub it on my feet when the neuropathy gets bad. Really helps, too.

Go easy on the essence; as you add more water, it lingers. I refresh the essence about every 6 months, but I always use the same gallon jug, too.

Lavender is my favourite smell. That might seem strange, perhaps, given that I'm anosmic (no sense of smell)! But the 'thought' of lavender is wonderful, and reminds me of my Grandma. She was a tiny woman (no-one might have believed that she bore 14 children, and all at home! ) and was already in her late 60s when I came along. I would sometimes stay overnight in town with her. And she always had Yardley Lavender talcum powder, perfume, and those little square bath cubes that she would sometimes let me use. Ever since then I've loved lavender in any form: the colour, the actual plants/flowers, in tea - anything. And yes - my talc is lavender-scented, too! LOL

What a lovely memory of your Grandma. That lack of sense of smell can be a blessing/curse kind of thing! lol

Sure can. I grew up on a farm, and can attest to that! LOL
