I love frosting that is the BEST part. As for the cake in the words of Marie Antoinette "Let them eat cake! " I would feed the birds with that cake after licking the frosting.

Happy almost birthday. Mine was New Year's Eve.

Chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. Can't say I've ever heard of peanut butter icing. Sounds like an interesting combination. Reece's has certainly capitalized on it.

Really sweltering today at 36.9 or close to 100 deg F and the humidity was awful. Glad to get into my airconditioned bedroom tonight.

"I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again." Lewis Carroll

I wish lol

"It's funny how, in this journey of life, even though we may begin at different times and places, our paths cross with others so that we may share our love, compassion, observations, and hope. This is a design of God that I appreciate and cherish." Steve Maraboli

Good night dear friends from a very hot and steamy Queenslander. God bless all of you. Hugs.

My hope for you to stay cool.I know humidity and it is the thing that makes the temperature--when high or low--unbearable.

Love both of your sayings today aussie. Especially the journey of life one.

Wishing you could share some of our weather - cool (50-65F), some showers to water the plants, some sunshine. I relish this kind of weather as I'm so heat intolerant. Our n.e. Fla summers are brutal.

Three of my husband' siblings and my uncle are in FL. We have never even visited and have no inclination. Too flat. Hot and humid as you say and who wants that except the mosquitoes. Alligators in the swimming pools. Poison toads in the pet dishes and coqui frogs in the thousands to keep you awake all night. What's not to like? (lol)

I really did LOL at your description of Florida. The hot, humid and mosquitoes are right on. Not too many alligators in the swimming pools and no poison toads or a coqui frogs in sight. We do, however, have adorable lime green tree frogs that make the loveliest sound. What I don't like are the toads who get into our fish pond after a rain and make the most awful racket!

I was a real estate agent for a while and people from up north frequently thought there were alligators in everyone's back yards and snakes hanging from the trees.

You can thank youtube for the alligator stuff. There seems to be a new rescue unit taking a big one out of someone's pool every other month. It must be just the houses near the Okeefenokee area. Two sisters in law live in the Villages. No gators there. Only the threat of sink holes and tornadoes. We are currently in a fairly safe spot.
The bad weather seems to hit all around and miss us (usually). With all the horrendous disasters these days it's hard to pick a spot where you won't have your dream house slide off a cliff, wash away down a creek, or burn in a wildfire, not to mention
blow off it's foundations. Just yesterday I read Connecticut is having earthquakes. Who'd have thought?

Well, we do have alligators in Fla as well as Ga, Al, and La. They sometimes live in water hazards at golf courses or retention ponds in neighborhoods. They were hunted so much for a long time that they actually went on the endangered species list. They made such a huge comeback the authorities had to let people start hunting them again. I've tried eating alligator. It's kinda tough and chewy; it's not really for me.

I forgot Mississippi; they have gators too.

The burner man is coming today. I closed a valve the last man had left slightly open and there hasn't been a leak since--that was yesterday morning. If the fellow comes and it isn't something that will ruin the system I may have solved the problem.
Praying you all have good luck today. (Me too.)

Maybe "luck" is a bad word to use. Pray for God's providence to work wonders today.

Okay. The repair guy just left. What I did with the valve is fine and so far still no leaks. He worked on the intake valve and reset the pressure which held where he wanted it so it may be good to go.
Prayers for it to hold would be appreciated! Thanks for caring every one.

All "luck" is God's providence.

Here's hoping you've solved your furnace problems. Where do you live? From the sounds of things I'd guess the North Pole.

Thankful your furnace is working. This is no weather to have problems with it! So pretty yesterday here with the hoarfrost, but 0 degrees, and I don't mean Celsius!

Yesterday morning we were -11 at 6:30. Today was a heat wave by comparison. I live in what they call upstate New York although there's plenty more "up" state above us. We are across the Hudson from Albany and a bit north.

OOOOHHHH, BRRRR! I grew up in Mass., just south of Boston and I know what cold winters are like.
Northwest Missouri is about the same, although, not as much snow as way up north....but, still cold!

Never went to nw MO but did go to a wedding in St. Paul and drive around in the mountains to the south a bit. We also visited Springfield and drove past Branson. No time to stop and look there but that spot looked pretty.
