Hi, good to see you are still around! Me too. Have been busy this week but not sure what I've done! Had a real nice visit Sunday with brother and wife, they were here for just a short time, drove on into "Apple Cookie" that day they got home about 9pm their time. They both had chigger bites from going hiking with the grandsons in Tx.

Hi CatLadyOKC, so glad you got to visit with your brother and wife. Oh no, sorry they had the bites to deal with on their hiking trip. Glad they had safe trip to "Apple Cookie". I just love that and will never forget. Thanks again for sharing. :)

Have been on and off the last few days, and it looks like I may be again this week, have had rain storms and lots of lightening think we have several days of that again this week. Getting lots of reading done, will need to make a trip to library this week for more books, also have appt. to get hair cut, but that only takes about an hour.

I get my hair done this coming week too. Wish I could get interested in reading. I do get moods on and off. Our library is only three blocks away. Could walk if I wanted to. Our town is so small. Only around 3, 000. All towns around us is much bigger with lots of shopping. Have a good day.

That's about the size of town hubby grew up in and we started out in for about the first 5 years.
The town I grew up in was about 20, 000, I really like a small town better. The library is only about a mile & I could walk it but easier to drive.

Not used to walking in a woods, but guess I could get use to it...as long as there are not crawly creatures.

I walked in the woods all my life, but did watch every step I took. LOL This one looks so vibrant and inviting. We'll go together and scare away what gets in our way. :)

We have wonderful walking trails around here, but do have to watch out for the snakes. :( We carry a walking stick and pound it on the ground as we walk.

That is a great idea. I must get me a walking stick. I walk most everyday and have yet come across a snake. The stick would be a great defender if I did. :)

Hey, do you think tomandray can find our "Golden Days" for us....? I'm more into a large club when it comes to those things...

Hi Hockeyfan, The walking stick is not only a defender, it's a warning to a snake something is coming. They don't have ears, but they do feel vibration. Pounding the stick on the ground as you walk alerts them someone is coming thru. It scares them, they go away. So I've been told when I moved to FL. Have not had a problem when out for a walk. :) Have a great evening. :)

Hi tomandray, the walking stick sure makes sense. I have a tremendous fear of snakes, of any size, little or big, long or short, poisonous or not. Glad to know they can feel the vibration of a stick. Thank you for sharing. :)

You'll love this, I'm right up there with you...shortly after hubby & I were married we where at the lake in Ks camping, he said watch out there is a snake over there and the next thing he knew I was sitting on his shoulders. I never even saw it. Had nighmares for weeks after that.

Hi CatLadyOKC, Yes, sounds like a good idea to find the "Golden Days", maybe a seeing eye dogs would help to sniff out our "Golden Days". :))))) I'm thinking a Golden Retriever would be nice. I only have a Golden Maine Coon, and she's 15 1/2 years old, she's in her senior years. She sleeps a lot, eats well, and still has a bit of energy. When she needs to run, she can do it. She'll be 16 end of September. I watch her closely everyday. She's such a beautiful girl. :) Have a wonderful evening. :)

Sounds like our Maine Coon, but he is a few years younger, he eats a lot and likes to stay in the porch overnight (we can shut it up) then sleeps all day except for his meals...Ours is brown, black & white, has a black lower lip, but a pink nose, his face area is white and so are his paws. Weights right at 20 lbs now.

Hi CatLadyOKC, Your "big boy" sounds beautiful. Our girl is 17 lbs. and also loves her closed in patio. She spends her mornings out there. How they have their habits. :)

He was a rescue cat, spoiled rotten. Your sounds beautiful too. Does fine most of the time until he has to go to the vets, then he can let out one of his famous howls, you can hear it all thru the clinic.

Beautiful painting. It's too tedious for someone like me to do though I get bored with details real quick so I admire this artist.
