We always look forward to the corn stands that spring up throughout our upstate NY county around mid August. Corn picked in the morning and cooked by suppertime is the only kind I will buy. The stuff for sale in supermarkets is pitiful, stale, and dried out. Ugh! If you do not want to take the time to boil water and cook corn, I have a tip. Wrap each ear in a very wet paper towel and microwave 4 minutes. They cook perfectly. Two can be done at once, but it may take another minute. I cook one at a time so that I can take my time with this late summer treat.

I microwave corn too retirenow14. Shuck it, add butter and salt, wrap in waxed paper and allow 1.5 minutes per ear. Easy and delicious!

I will try your method, also. Sounds interesting. I forgot to preface the explanation of the process with shucking the ear of corn. My brother used to roast corn on his homemade grill station. It needed to be presoaked, unshucked in a bucket of water first. Then the ears were placed on the top cooking area after the meat and potatoes were half done on the bottom area. All was delicious. I miss those get togethers with my family.

Corn is one color of yellow (maize) tht I like. It's warmer and less blaring than most yellows. This is a lovely photo. It has lots of texture. One of my husband's and my favorite things is seeing the golden stalks of corn in the fields before they are cut down in the Fall.
Wishing you success in your gardening and farming.
