Pretty as a picture.

My friend here in the mobile home park passed away Sunday night. Please pray for the family. Her daughter is administrator of the estate and, as of this morning had not called her brothers to tell them or inform the park manager to arrange for time to dispose of property. I am afraid she is in way over her head. Her way of dealing with things when she feels overwhelmed is to do nothing. They truly need God;s strength and help through this. The daughter and at least one son are drug users, although she seems to have been clean the last few weeks as she cared for her mother. I have no rights and no power here so it is all up to God (as it always is). Thank you.

God bless you all.

It is always very difficult for adult children to go through their deceased parent's belongings. Probably there is little of value to dispose of after family members take something by which to remember her. Some people just put a sign out at the end of the street and announce a sale on Craig's list. Let people offer what they wish to spend, and bargin a little to empty the place out. It sounds like that is all the family will be capable of.

I have been told by the lady who helped prepare the will that I have been named as a beneficiary but the daughter denies it. According to the friend, it is "Much bigger than the antique curio table " my friend gave me before she died. I don't know whether to use all legal recourse to have her mother's last wishes met or just let it go. This girl has repeatedly stolen from her mother and I feel like she is doing that again rather than stealing from me. The total lack of respect that family has shown their mother breaks my heart. She has had to file restraining orders against each of them at one time or another. Please pray for my attitude!

In this case, I would use legal recourse. There is the issue of restraining orders of which there will be a record. All she is doing is getting as much of her mother's property so that she can sell it. Letting it go now would be like kicking in the teeth of your friend who has died. A disrespect in that case. At least, that is how I see it. Sending you hugs and praying that you'll make the right choice.

Thank you, Taffi. I'm kind of leaning that direction. I spoke with a hospice worker who is also a hospital chaplain and he pretty much said the same thing. He is going to ask a hospice social worker who can give me advice on how to go about it to give me a call.

If you are a beneficiary, you have a right to see the will if it was filed. Find out from office of the aging where to inquire on this, as time is of the essence.

The will was never filed. It was just finalized and signed the night she died. She is not going to put it into probate or pay any bills her mom had. She just plans to take everything and call it all hers. I called an attorney and hie secretary said it sounds like I have a solid case but I don't have the money to retain him. Guess I'm just going to have to let it go. If God wants me to do something more, He will show me the way. Thank you all for the encouragement.

A little bit too abstract for me, different horses for different courses.

[Very funny lady.]

Take care and God bless. Hugs.

Yeah and some things she says isn't funny. Wonder if people know that her sister had a column as well. Her sisters husband founded Budget Rent a Car.
