Oh how my boys loves these!! We called them Lego Blocks, although they were red, blue, and I think yellow. Oh, and how fun it was to step on one in the dark. LOL

I hated stepping on these lego pieces with barefeet. Interesting that my mom would often criticize me for opening my mouth. But one day on a trip we were all together and infront of my brother and sil she's asking me who their son looks like. Then she says doesn't he look like Al but with Nari coloring. The child didn't look anything like my brother. I just felt that wasn't the time or place to say that. Then we were all sitting around one during xmas and she suddenly says to my sil - Oh c got involved with some relationships that didn't work out. I didn't think that was appropriate either. Oh brother!

My boys loved a similar type of plastic building blocks, especially my 5 yr. old. I know I've asked this before, but has any parent stepped on one or two of these while barefoot? Fun, huh?

Kids love these. Didn't have these when I was growing up--just blocks!

Me too. I've never seen Legos in those colors. Maybe it's some copycat company. I don't think Legos have those curved pieces--but of course I haven't bought any since my boy was little some 25 years ago. They could have expanded the line a lot since then.

They're the bigger pieces for little fingers. Not called Legos. Of course, I can't remember the name! My brother and I had Legos and then he had an Erector set. He was younger than me so I'd wait until he went to bed and then play with the Erector set a bit lol Otherwise, he wouldn't allow me to touch it!

Oh, they come in all colors and shapes now. They even have a Star Wars gift set and you can build the Millenium Falcon with another set.

Would rathe have an actual model. When we were young I bought a model of the Enterprise for my brother. It was gorgeous when finished and even lit up.

I babysat for a boy that was into the models. He had different kinds of planes. I even went shopping with him. He'd saved up his pocket money to get another plane. And one done, they were suspended from his bedroom ceiling. It looked great!

Quick one. Used to have a similar set of blocks for making buildings when I was a kid. Those only came in red and white. I had an erector set also.
Wishing you a day of happy projects.

Yes, we had some called American Building Blocks and we made mostly houses. The set came with window, door and garage door pieces. Also cardstock roof pieces.

We also had Flintstone building blocks which were huge and made out of styrofoam. You could make structures large enough to walk into.

I remember a 'building set', available in the UK in the 1950's/1960's, that was called 'Bayko'. Could that possibly be the one that you remember, pixipixil? It had little metal sticks that fitted into a baseboard and the white bricks slid down between them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayko

That must have been fun. Nothing like that when I was little. I used to use the coffee tble and seat cushions to make a hideout cave.

I can think of something I had and saved it for 40 years. In a matter of seconds my sister pitches it and then claims it was junk! It was a travel diary to an european trip when we were kids. I entered the hotel and restaurants that we went to. Even asked her at the time and she says oh that was junk. A co-worker asked me to bring it in because he was going on to Europe one year. Wish I had brought it home - Ugh!

I know what you mean. My husband pitched a box of my old LP's. I still have tons and am in process of turning them into CD's but there were songs I wish I still had to transfer and they are long gone.

You can have someone do this for you. The co-worker wanted suggestions on places. I told him that I cappuchino would be about 9.00. He didn't believe me and returns and says omg you're right. I still can recall the places. He was visiting the same cities.
