The competition for puns is getting fierce about the family tree, but that's Oak Kay with me. It will make me Spruce up a bit. Fir be it from me to limit the competition. My Aunt Maple wouldn't like it though, but she is still pine-ing for her old boy friend.

Are we competing? I thought we were just having fun. It can become a poplar-ity contest for sure. Just don't want to go out on a limb trying to win so I will-owe apologies all around.

After all, I AM an Ohio State Buckeye at heart, especially with Urban Myers at the elm of their program. Olive to look at different kinds of trees, but I butternut try to confuse yew or anyone else. That was a treemendous effort on your part. I'll make sure to never ag-grove-ate you, nor claim you are complacent for-rest-ing on your laurels. I'm a bit tired now so pardon me while I lumber off to bed.

Pixipixil, it isn't a competition, but I just enjoy the puns you and others post here. I would NEVER PUNish anyone with play on words. A pun is the lowest form of humor - unless you think of it first.

Would have been better if it was a real picture instead of a painting. But it's a pretty picture.

What a beautiful puzzle (and only 1 like )tut tut.
ParsonWayne to fall for the lovely colours of autumn is one of the joys of the season, if they last all or half of the year we would take them for granted and not notice them. I know that you are making a play on words but thought I had to say it any way. Autumn has brought the sun back to London and pleasant it is for it is cooler and can be really enjoyed, it will probably last for just a few days but we have to be grateful for what we have.
Have an enjoyable weekend and feel blessed in the love of God as He keeps you safe in His love. Hugs from me.

You may be right, Barbaranne. I know having Christmas shoved down one's throat at the stores by Halloween really takes some of the pleasure from seeing the decorations...HOWEVER I love the Fall colors so much I think I could stand three full months of those leaves without becoming jaded.

There are any number of things that, though we must be aware of them, need to be "tuned out" of our personal worlds. Since I rarely go into stores and shopping malls (I do 99.99% of my shopping online) I am spared the early holiday nonsense. Some time ago I decided that, for my own sanity and peace of mind, I needed to set parameters for what I allow into 'my world, ' God being first. Often times undesirable things creep in and they are dealt with.

I was a store dislay manager for three years and I did the whole store--2 floors plus a mezzanine and 12 windows myself. We used to do Christmas after Thanksgiving which to me is planty of time. I loved doing the windows when it was time for a snow scene. Today what little decor there is is garish and is much too early. I have little shopping to do. Most of my family is dead. My husband doesn't like presents and my only brother and his wife trade checks. I do trade presents with ome friend but we both sort of collect things as we see them during the year.

Jud13, Weather at Christmas in London, that's a difficult question, but I will have go. Last year a lot of people were still wearing short sleeves and never a snowflake was seen. Other years we have froze through the winter. I would suggest that she packs for winter with some cooler items. If she has some money them Primark is a fairly cheap shopping place and if she needed clothes they are up to date with there fashions. How long will she be in London and what is the parade about and where? I hope that helps and sorry to keep refering to your granddaughter as she but you did not give her a name. It is winter and that's what she needs to remember. Where is she coming from?
