Being able to see this in full screen as opposed to the smaller images I've only seen of this in books, I can see why Pointillism never really caught on.

Since I almost flunked my foreign language (Spanish) - can't roll an "r". Didn't like english much better. Please translate the tittle of this painting for me. Think it is French.

You're absolutely right. "La Grande Jatte"is French for 'the big bowl'. Almost anything sounds more romantic in French than in English.

The full title is Sunday Afternoon on the Isle La Grande Jatte which was a retreat for the rich in the 1800's.
