When my mom made strawberry shortcake she'd cut up the strawberries and them mash them a bit so lots of juice would soak into the biscuits, sooo perfect. I do it that way now too.
Condensed milk on those bare cupcake - sized poundcakes so it sinks in then slice the strawberries over it and top with whipped cream. When my son was in school I would visit my mom in AZ one week each summer. When I came home my husband always had the ingredients to make these and I would. We had a coming home party. It was wonderful.
I can't eat strawberries now--gives me diverticulitis. My son and mom are gone. Just me and my husband (Thank you GOD he is still here) are home here now.

My husband just got out of the hospital after his first bout with diverticulitis. I hope you don't experience that too often.
Strawberries...my "mostest" favorite fruit!!!!!! And these look wonderful. A few months more and they will be in the supermarkets and I CANNOT wait!! May joy, beauty, love, and all the blessings of this world be with you today and always!
