Mystery for today

Love these puzzles and love this group--we have really jelled together & can almost read each others minds--and the HONESTY so important--we help each other constantly and FREELY--I can't even remember how I signed on to this site--but it must be a true gift from God. Sometimes I joke, but mostly reach out to my buddies for help--and get it. Sometimes I tell my husband some of Aussie's jokes, or Parson's Puns, or CatLady's last adventure. But most of all, I tell him how we are all different from around the world-but can come together in a snap when someone needs help. Just like when I told all of you about my daughter & her drug addiction. Most folks would never speak of this in public. But the trust I feel with all of you helps so much. I thank you and love our group. XOXO

For those of you who have been praying for my friend Lyn in New Zealand, I phoned her today and she sounds a lot better. Told her a couple of jokes and she laughed they way she has done in the past. She had to go back to hospital as her blood pressure grew dangerously low but is home again now. She has someone come in each day t help her shower and another to do some housework for her. The best news is that her estranged daughter now visits her once a week and I am sure that has helped in her recovery. The daughter lives quite a distance from her otherwise I think she would visit more often, she is also the principal of a school, so her work commitments are such that she cannot get away except for the weekend. A lot to praise God for - thank You. Hugs.

Good news!
So many of us seem to have estranged kids. I wonder if it common in every generation or just this one?

Abacii - I know quite a few people, myself included, whose kids have nothing to do with them. Lyn's experience with her daughter has given me encouragement. Hugs.

Whose kids have nothing to do with them? Really - that's quite sad! I was involved in both of my grandparents lives all through childhood. Then we grew up and we still were involved in their life. We were such a supportive and caring family and to each one! When I landed in the hospital in Jan. my aunt contacted my sis and brother to inform them. He then told them I was having surgery. I become frustrated with them because one year I had two surgeries and they didn't even call or write and ask about me!

Us kids were involved in our parents lives when we were adults too. Can't think of how many times my mom would call me at work and ask me to do her a favor - send a Fedex to my brother, get his phone number. Drive and pick up an item she couldn't find. She found it in nearby restaurant. Drove my dad to the car dealership so it could be repaired. Went to lunch and then get lunch for my dad. Went to the bank - to make a deposit and get cash for him.

My brother has nothing to do with the family. He has blocked the his children from seeing their grandparents. Dad is in the UK and so desperately wants to see them before he dies but he knows it's not going to happen. (Melanoma that has metastasized in his liver and left lung) Mom is more accepting of it as she trusts in God and leaves it with Him. I can see the children but they are now teens and so I don't see them as often now. So yes, there are children who want nothing to do with their parents.

Over the years I have been involved in Bible Studies and Prayer Groups. I never expected a jigsaw site on the internet to be a prayer group. So many depend upon each other for their prayers. What a blessing.

Yes, and we are all sisters and brothers in Christ no matter what part of the world we live in. I praise God too for Kevin and his staff who make all this possible. Hugs to all of you.

Yeah she's lucky that the daughter comes and visits. I heard about an old woman who had a dog. Her daughter wouldn't even come visit. Was told that the dog was under treatment and then told the dogs ear falling off? That didn't make sense to me.

Jamp124, I was so glad when I joined this wonderful group. We have helped each other through tears, laughter, prayers, and just lifting each other up through our Lord and Savior. I am so thankful there is a place like C4J and for Kevin and staff. We welcome you open arms.

How refreshing that looks. Just latch onto that ring and float around lazily for however long I will allow myself that luxury. Of course I would slather sun screen all over myself first - even if that makes me feel hotter and greainsy and in need of a shower.

God bless you all.
