Tough puzzle and I still came in at 'silver' (for now). LOVE tulips!

I love tulips too but it gets too hot to grow them here very successfully and our ground gets so damp the bulbs rot (if the squirrels don't eat them first).

Washington state grows some AWESOME tulips north of me in the Skagit Valley area. BIG festival every year; Pretty glorious to go see all the fields filled with bright colors.

Yes, love tulips also. That is the one flower I miss living in FL, the early spring flowers of crocus and tulips. I made the mistake of planting tulips when I first moved to FL, the squirrels had a nice feast. :)) Have a great evening. :)

That was a little more difficult than it looked.

Tip toe through the tulips comes to mind. When I was living in Ontario, a couple of friends and I travelled out to Ottowa when the tulip festival was on, not sure if it still is, and it was just so spectacular.

"If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give." George MacDonald

"A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him." David Brinkley

Good night, God bless, take care. Hugs.

I wonder if Brinkley wrote a "how to" on that one. I have lots of bricks.

Hi, the Canadian Tulip Festival will be held in Ottawa this year from May 8 to May 18. There will be a special 70th anniversary commemoration of the Liberation and the Tulip Legacy. Check it out! http://tulipfestival.ca/

During WWII Canada gave sanctuary to the Dutch queen and declared her birthing room to be dutch sovereign territory so the heir would be a Dutch citizen. The tulip bulbs were a gracious thank you to us.

Good
George MacDonald quote! Hard puzzle. Our tulips will be late this year, they are not even peeping up at all. No crocus yet, either.

Isn't that great that the tulip festival is still going. I was there in 1964-66. Thank you for all the interesting history - great site this is for learning and knowledge, and thank you to all those whose encouragement I appreciate so much. Hugs all around.

I read a story in a daily devotional some time ago about a lady in running springs, California who started planting with one daffodil and now has thousands as well as tulips - She and her husband, the Bauers, maintain about five acres themselves and there is a magnificent display in the spring. If you google bauers, running springs, California you can read all about it and see a video presentation of the tulips and daffodils. It is quite magnificent and touching. Hugs.

Beautiful yellow tulips. Had a mild winter here so flowers came on early. Think I need to put more tulips in sometime. I love mixing the yellow tulips with the red tulips!
