A fun puzzle! The cat reminds me of a resident cat in a lovely gift shop in Stowe, VT. They had low display cases with glass tops lit from under the glass. On display on this lighted base were delicate bone china items. The resident cat, liking the warmth the lighted glass provided, would get up, pick his way among the cups and saucers until he found a space fit for him --- and curl up and go to sleep! Never a broken item!

Noah's Ark...such a wonderful memory as a toy for my youngest son. He would lay on the floor and play with it for hours. Sadly, we lost him at 6 yrs. Wish I would have saved that toy, but the memories will live in my heart just the same.

My son was born with a bad heart valve. Heart Doctor thought operation would be successful if done when he was older. Unfortunately that was a bad choice. We all wish it had been done sooner. He was a sweet and funny little person. God is laughing with him now.

Your faith is beautiful, micki. I know you are right.
My son was funny, too. He hoped to be a stand up comic. I have a favorite photo of him lying on the grass next to my husband. He was three or four then. They both have a hat over their eyes but my husband has his legs preessed together and his hands on his chest while my son has one leg up and the other out to the side and both hands up above his shoulders. he wanted to be like daddy and still just had to be himself.

I feel odd asking pixipixil...is your son also deceased?

Yes. He died of a combination of illnesses and drugs. He was 32 and had pneumonia, bronchitis and took methadone. He never woke up and his roommate let him lie there on the floor of their apartment for two nights and a day during which he finally stopped breathing. The police came to our door at 6 am on a Sunday morning to tell us.
Instead of getting the "normal" help he needed when things went wrong he always tried to fix them himself and made things worse. This time he really made things worse. He got the methadone from the woman who says she mothered his second daughter and whom he met as they both "graduated" from rehab. She was on doctor prescribed methadone all along but my son was supposed to have been "clean." This all happened just as we thought he had "turned the corner" towards a "normal" life. And we don't get involved with either of the women or the children. We had five years of hell dealing with him as an addict and that's all we can stand. Both women have the kids and both are druggies. Their families are involved in raising the children as well so our input would be negligible even if we had decided to be involved. It would do little for the children but it would destroy us. I pray for social services to finally realize they children should be taken away and put up for adoption. There are so many good couples desiring children who would raise them with love.
Our son was adopted but I don't think he ever felt happy about it. He harbored resentment his mother had given him up and so although we knew he and the women were unfit and advised they put the children up he and she refused. When the policeman came to the door I was afraid the daugher had died and my son was in jail for it. As unhappy as I am about my son dying, that would have been even worse.

Love looking at metal and wooden toys. They have a charm you can't capture in plastics. Also love copper kettles. I have some wooden tree ornaments that remind me of these things. I keep them eventhough I don't put up a tree any more.
