These look good and are probably homemade, but FYI...Eggo makes a great frozen waffle that is simply the best, called "Thick and Fluffy" and believe me they're delicious.

My husband surprised me with homemade Belgian waffles for breakfast this morning. Now I know why I keep him around.

Lucky you Annie...Unfortunately, mine does not cook, but he does do all the dishes, which is a relief. By the way...I love belgian waffles, so send him over to my place. Only a plane ride away?

And from there you can send him to my house!
Love those...mine doesn't cook well at all, but loves McDonald's. I don't!

The only thing my husband cooks is breakfast and an occasional grilled cheese sandwich, hamburgers and bacon. But it is a big help when he does. He said he would be on the next plane to Oregon and then stop in Oklahoma on the way back. Have a good Sunday.

Wish I could find one that could make good meatloaf. When the kids were in high school still he decided to fix meat loaf, no one could figure out what he had done, but it was terrible, a few days later he decided to hide it in the chile and no one would eat it either. Since then he has been banned from doing meatloaf.

You made me laugh, and I can share some stories of my guy TRYING to cook. Can anybody out there tell me how you can burn mashed potatoes? He did...and I could smell a burnt dinner as my car pulled in the garage. Gotta love 'em.

My daughter, was our burner, burnt the teflon right off my new skillet, fixing an egg, also caught the popcorn on fire in microwave, we still have a fire extingisher on the wall in the kitchen, from her cooking days. She is 40 now with her own home, got her one for a Christmas present when she got a house!

I laughed til my stomach hurt CatLadyOKC!!! At least your daughter tried. Mine never even walked near a stove growing up...but now she is attending her second year at a Culinary School. Go figure.

Her daughter got her for me, she decided to fix rice krispies stickys one day and left the marshmellows in the package to melt them in the microwave.

Hi Micki, I went to the store yesterday and found the Eggo "Thick and Fluffy" waffles. Had 2 for breakfast this morning. I was pleasantly surprised how good they are. Thanks for the info on them.
How is the weather there today? It is 54 but bright and sunny, a beautiful autumn day. Hope you have a good one.

Annie..beautiful here all last weekend and this week in the mid 80's. The leaves are starting to turn color however, so looking for cooler weather soon. I think Winter is over rated....lasts too long here in Oregon and already pining for Spring. Take care and you have a good one also.

Will have to try those, have had their others but don't think I've had those, found a maple syrup (sugar free) that is really good.

What brand of maple syrup is that, CatLady? We have gotten down into the 30's at night, no killing frost yet. It is sunny and 51 here right now. We went to Oklahoma in 2000 when our son graduated from boot camp in Ft. Sill. There was a terrible ice storm that day which even closed the base. They managed to hold the graduation ceremony but not the luncheon that was planned. We rented a car and we went to K-Mart looking for an ice scrapper and/or snow brush. I was flabbergasted that they didn't carry them. We improvised and used our bath brush and a credit card to get the snow and ice off of our windshield. What an experience that whole trip was. Enjoy your day.

That is tipical OK winter, when we moved down here moved my snow shovel, ice scrappers, heavy winter coat & boots. We were the only ones on the street with those things, still one of the only ones with a snow shovel, they just wait for it to go away...they have never cleaned our street all they clean are the snow routes here!
Just a few inches or snow or ice can shut down the whole city.
It is almost noon here and already 81, sun and very little breeze today. Still runing our A/C, usually don't even have our ck up on furn. until late Oct.

Yeah these waffles are homemade. My husband has made homemade waffles and pancakes. He loves to make pulled pork or beef and put a rub on it too. He even cleans up too. Last year for 6 weeks he had to do cooking and the cleaning. I wanted to cook and bake but couldn't.

Hi carolsapple, I don't know if my husband or I, for that matter, could survive for 6 weeks on his cooking. He is very good at breakfasts and he makes a mean macaroni & cheese and he can grill a steak. Other than that it would be frozen store bought food. But he does help around the house with dishes and vacuuming. Got to love him!

My husband can cook almost anything. He's made pancakes, waffles from scratch. Quiche, pie, steak, pulled pork. The women on our street always ask me if he can cook. I joke and say yes and then oh surprised I'm not fattier with his good cooking. Last summer he had to do everything, cook, clean up. For 6 weeks he had to do all of this - I fell broke my hand and had surgery. Pins were inserted - even had to quit my job. Ugh!

Waffles are very tasty...and I'm a purist, I like them with lots of syrup. Go to a good restaurant and try one of their Belgium waffles. Yummy!
