Yummy, homemade soup, I love it. Make it often in the winter. My two guys like soup with homemade beer bread. Such an easy meal to fix and really warms you up inside. You all stay safe.

Today must be soup day! I just made a big pot of seafood soup--guess I was feeling shellfish!

You would only be shellfish if you didn't share it with someone else. I cray(ve)fish.

On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your soup?
Most fish soups start with C(sea), see?
How many servings b4 you fin-ish it?

Oh this made me laugh, Pixi! Because as always---I made far too much! My fishmonger gave me a big salmon head, so I slow simmered a piece of kombu (kelp) for an hour in a pot of water; then added the salmon head to make the base broth. Little ginger/garlic paste, a pound of fresh calms, and the salmon bits. Made way too much as usual, as there's only 2 of us!

Orinoco, I hope you have a freezer. That sounds very interesting. I don't think I've ever tasted kelp.
So glad I could give you a laugh.

Okay, I'm ready now, Parson. You must have gone to a school for funny fish tails (tales). It was a whale of a funny riddle so why am I blubbering? Because if I laugh really hard I always start to cry.
I shoal like to laugh hard anyway.

You have outdone yourself this time, and I'm not making fin of you. Trout to not rupture your brain by thinking too hard. If you did, I'm sure it will eel in time.

Hi folks

I would like to apologise to anyone on this site that I may have offended with either the quotes I post or the jokes. It certainly was not my intention to do that. I sometimes spend a lot of time (up to half an hour) choosing the quotes etc, either matching the puzzle or something positive to put into people's lives. There is so much negativity we face each day. I try not to use quotes attributed to controversial people, but only those who lift us up and not pull us down.

So if this has been the case with any of you, I can only apologise and ask you to forgive me. Sincerely from my heart and God bless you all. Hugs.

Aussie don't know what is going on, but can't believe anyone would complain about your quotes. You can tell there is a lot of thought put into them and they are always up lifting and I myself have gotten some wonderful laughs from them, although have awoken my hubby more than once lol! Keep posting your quotes and jokes and if someone doesn't like them they don't have to read your posts. Thank you Aussie you are a wonderful, loving person. Take care and be safe.

I love your quotes, they often lift my spirits and speak directly to my situation. I feel sorry for whoever felt they had to be "offended" by them; either they have no problems--or quite a few.
Stay strong and smiling!

Aussie, you haven't ever offended. My comment about Hale's quote was nothing more than an effort to point out that some quotes require one to think about them. The idea that being shut out of something is always God's will, which is what I took Hale's quote to mean, would mean that blackballing someone was in God's plan. What about knock and it shall be opened unto you? There's a clear indication that closed doors are not always in God's plan.
Don't worry so much. Keep posting. You are the most complimented, loved person on this site so I can't understand why my little comment has been so upsetting.
I'm sorry I can't always be the upbeat, agreeable poster so many on here are. That's just my personality. Can't help it. I hope when I don't agree all the time it doesn't upset everyone else the way this seems to have affected you. Be at peace. There's room for us all.

I LOVE the quotes each day. Even If I would disagree with a quote one day, it makes me think, which can be quite painful, because I don't do that too often. lol

Aussie I don't believe you have upset anyone! Your quotes and jokes are wonderful. I've shared them with my mom and both of us have laughed. Thank goodness there are people who still try to make others feel better in this crazy world. That goes to everyone on this site. I love this site because of all of you on here. You keep on sharing and be who you are because you are a beautiful person! Hugs to you and all!!!!

I love the quotes and if someone gets offended, then they either have no sense of humor, or just like to complain about about something. I thought we were a fun-loving group who supported each other, whether through faith, jokes, or using a quote to help uplift others.
If I were you Miss Aussie, I would just keep doing what you are doing unless the administrator on here says otherwise. We will defend you no matter what. After all, that is what friends are for. Love you and do not worry about it. Love you from afar.

Pixipixil I am not an upbeat, agreeable poster all the time as I am sure no one on this site is. There is an old saying " If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all" This site is very special it is a place of love, support and fun. It is not a place for negative hurtful thoughts. Oh before I forget everyone be safe out there.

You know, darambo, this is nothing but nonsense.
Did you even read my initial response to the Hale posting? There was nothing nasty in it and I have said nothing nasty to anyone. I think it's a shame you have jumped to that conclusion.

Thank you goof, posting them helps me in lots of ways too. I miss my daughter and her family - she has not spoken to me in four years and of course it has now been a year since the other disaster in my life. Just wonder how long it is before the pain subsides. But people like you on here always give me the lift I need. Hugs.

For the most part goof, that is what I do - it works sometimes. I have two grandchildren who are growing up quickly. The boy is 15 and the girl will be 17 in December and I do miss not having anything to do with them. Thank you for your encouragement and advice. Loving hugs.

Sounds like a soup-er idea. I made some more salsa this week. I enjoy using the food from my garden to preserve food for this winter. That makes me feel more chip-per.

:) PW - as a cook, I make a good poet lol. But I have been having moderate success with a raised garden bed I bought for my husband to try to encourage him to garden. It is now mine lol and I have had great success with lettuce, bought a punnet of mixed lettuce and the one I like the best is the cos variety. I also have a tomato plant that has gone berserk, think if I stand still long enough it will grow on me. They are a little bigger than the cherry tomatoes and there must be about 50 of them right now waiting to ripen. I also have an egg plant in there and while I love the vegetable it is a particularly vicious plant with lot of not so lovely thorns hidden throughout it. I am now handling it with tongs and have several flowers which I hope will soon turn into egg plants. My flower garden thrives in spite of my best efforts lol. Hugs PW - you are a blessing.
