Debbie--I think I might like to go to Finland sometime & discover what the interior of this Cathedral is like. My husband and I went to Lithuania, Poland, Germany, France, & London once when we adopted our children. The churches (even the ones destroyed by Russia) are all being remodeled & just too beautiful for words.

Congratulations on adopting children. More people need to do this. However, I know it can be expensive.

Elijah--thanks for good words on adoption. Yes, it is $$. Redo 2 bedrooms, clothes (they cannot take annything), toys, airfare (Luftsana was our favorite). Our children were from Lithuania. Luckily, all my grandparents were from that country--I could understand their language, but had trouble speaking it. (must have been my past Philadelphia nasal twang). But these kids lived thru falling down of Berlin Wall & tanks firing at & pulling down Lenin's statue. Kids there have blond hair & blue eyes--and the lucky ones went out to dinner with their parents. It was light until 10:30 pm.

How old were they when you adopted them? I am sure you are very proud of them.

Elijah, back in 1996 when we brought them home, son was 6 & daughter was 5. They were amazed by everything new in the World--but VERY quickly learned the latest toys, English (w/out accent), and what a big deal a grocery store was. Thinking about adopting?? We could call or chat privately. I could tell you the adoption agency we worked with--safest way. One of my friends went privately with a cache of diamonds hidden in her luggage. We were all scared for her, but she got beautiful infant girl (and they took her diamonds). This was Russia.

Too old for that--80. However, I taught kindergarten and first grade mostly, for 35 years. Still converse with some of my "kids" and their parents on Facebook.

What a phenomenal building. I am enthralled with cathedrals, castles, and all old well made buildings. The artisans and craftsmen who made these buildings beautiful for the people of their generation, and succeeding generations were inspired by God, in my opinion.

What a gorgeous building! I had to put it on full screen so I could get a better look at it.So beautiful. And now we live with so many straight lines. Boring! Or at least in my opinion. And in my opinion, that's the only opinion that counts. (Just kidding, that's only true in the unimportant things.)

God bless you all.
