These are used to spray crops- corn, beans, cotton - and also to spray a herbicide to defoliate the fields here in eastern NC. They remind me of a big bug going through the field.

Been around farms and lived in farm country most of my 80 years and have to say I have never seen a rig like that

I imagine the price tag is pretty big too.

Interesting farm equipment never saw one like that, of course we don't grow wheat. We do grow a lot of hay in eastern Oregon. I wonder if they use them for hay also. Everyone have a good day and be safe.

Debbie, that is called a tractor around here, not a truck. I have seen many of these working out in the fields. Most farmers are not outstanding in their field. They are busy working. They work from the crack of dawn until the crack of darkness and then turn on the headlights and continue working. We would not survive without our beloved farmers.

My brother married into a farming family. The son was bitten by a mosquito and became a semi invalid. The father while seeking to unclog a spigot on his equipment was doused by insecticide. His pores closed up and he had to avoid heat as he could not sweat. he had to use an air conditioned enclosed cab tractor. One sister left to be a nurse and the other went into working for a medical equipment firm. I think the children of the sick brother still live at the farm. They are grown up now. Farming is hard and dangerous but also very rewarding. For wheat farmers the life is ingrained and dairy farmers are seldom cowed by the long hours.

That's unfortunate about the father and son.

Pixi, I wonder how many saw all the puns you had in that story about the Farmer's son. Farmers DO work long hours, and that's no BULL.

Yes. It was very sad. When we stayed at the brother's house for my brother's wedding he was a big, healthy, strapping young man and he had two beautiful little boys and a lovely wife. Five years later he was a semi invalid and his wife was trying to support them all.

Necessity is the mother of invention - well this is just amazing.

"The sadness of the women's movement is that they don't allow the necessity of love. See, I don't personally trust any revolution where love is not allowed." Maya Angelou

"For whatever be the knowledge which we are able to obtain of God, either by perception or reflection, we must of necessity believe that He is by many degrees far better than what we perceive Him to be." Origen

Good night and God bless. Hugs.

Morning darambo, had to change my will and it was finalised yesterday. I had not been to the solicitor's office before and I had to walk a long way to find the entrance and as a result am suffering mercilessly with leg cramps this morning. I have some ointment that helps but ran out last night. I have just been walking around the house trying to get the cramp out and it has now left, but quite a sore calf. Not a good start to the day. Hope you are well. Hugs.

I could tell that this was a wheat field. In California they grow rice. When you drive by the fields you can smell it. It's called Jasmine rice. I've driven by other farms and my husband will point out the peach orchards etc.
