Tapirs are the coolest animal going. A friend worked for Miami (FL USA) MetroZoo and her job was the Tapirs. While under her care, they had two kids and not a one was sick or died. They are neat animals, very peaceful-they would fall asleep if you scratched them gently in particular places. So Cute! ~! Like puppies.

Tapirs are pretty interesting - for one thing, they're native to Central and South America and Southeast Asia, which is quite a strange distribution - the places aren't connected at all.

Oh my goodness.....a face only a mother could love lol

Some interesting facts -
"Tapirs look something like the mixture of a skinny hippopotamus and an overgrown pig. Add to this strange combination a short prehensile trunk. The result is a Tapir! They have splayed feet, with four toes on each front foot and three on each back foot. These spread toes help them to walk in muddy and soft ground."

We learn something new every day.

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin

"Learning never exhausts the mind." Leonardo da Vinci

"God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage." - unknown.

And isn't that the truth ;) Good night and God bless. Hugs.

Please, all of my puzzler friends, say a prayer for my hubby tomorrow. He has the surgery on his back at 4pm DST (daylight savings time). This is the one where the surgeon has to drill through one of his vertebra to create a hole in order to remove the calcification on one of his discs. All prayers needed and gratefully accepted.
