I probably have done this one before. Love strawberries. They grow them not too far from where I live. One year I went and picked some.

My test in the supermarket ---- if they smell like strawberries, they'll taste like strawberries. (Some of them don't.)

Not as easy as it looks. Looks mouthwatering but I am not a strawberry lover.

"You can tell a lot about a fella's character by whether he picks out all of one color or just grabs a handful." -explaining why he liked to have a jar of jelly beans on hand for important meetings. Ronald Reagan

Take care and God bless. Hugs.

Beautiful arrangement & great photography. I must agree w/ you, however, about liking strawberries. When we were little kids, my mom gave us some strawberries & my oldest brother promptly broke out in a red rash as red strawberries--too scared to repeat that scenario. When the wild strawberries started growing at side of our home, I was glad to let our neighborhood birds have a feast!

And I'm a lover of strawberries, as is my mother. I just got a phone call from my stepmother who sent him an email. They're currently in Spain. Dad's cancer has become active and has grown. He's in hospital on drugs etc. They've arranged hospice care for him in Spain and it looks like they'll be staying there. That means I won't be able to see him as I have no idea where they'll be or anything. I'm trying to lean on the Lord but it's hard. I'd appreciate your prayers please.

Oh, Taffi, I'm so sorry about your Dad. I lost mine and like you, was unable to make it home from Germany in time to say goodbye. My prayers go out for you and your family.

Taffi, prayers for your family, I was lucky I worked for an airline when my dad's cancer got bad, so I was able to travel back and forth from the USA to the UK a lot and was home for the end, but living overseas is always difficult, especially when its about $1000 a trip now. My cousins daughter could not make it home for her Mum when she passed either. Sad, I hope you at least have Skype or some other video conferencing tool. Either way important thing is you tell you Dad what he has meant to you in your life, how much you love him and leave nothing unsaid. Blessings

Taffi-what a great idea about the Skype! You will not be able to use the sense of touch, but your Dad needs to see you & know you are OK. Only then, will he & you truly feel at peace. We pray.

An update for everyone. He died yesterday. he was in hospital, on morphine and sleeping due to that. The Spanish hospital was good to him that way. Ann, my stepmother was with him at the end. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, not in any pain. Now I have to adjust to my world without him. I have depression and I'm trying to remain above that as I've been feeling like the depression had left me.

Hugs everyone. Thank you so much for your prayers.

We are all truly sorry for your loss:(

"He who believe in me shall have ever lasting life".
I don;t know what your faith is but I find if you have faith in Jesus, put your trust in Him and know that He works all things for the good, all the tough times in life become more bearable.

I lost my father 16 years ago (when I was 35) and I lost my best friend, who was my ex boss and mentor one and a half years ago.I miss them both terribly and think of them daily. I must live well to honour them.

I know as a Christian I have a heavenly Father who will never leave me or forsake me.

Your grief will last forever but it will subside with time and you will be able to remember more clearly the joy of your life with your father and all he brought to you, rather than your grief.

Blessings

Strawberries were a FAVORITE in MY family and in my home town. We also had strawberry festivals for a long time because we were considered the strawberry capital of the world in Deary, Idaho which is 23 miles to the east of Moscow, Idaho.
