Creatures of the sea - so many of them.

"Respect for the rights of others means peace." ~ Benito Juarez

As Pancho Villa said, "There can never be peace in a world where one man has his belly full and another man is starving."

Good night and God bless. Hugs.

Someone said, "Whatever happens to the least of us, happens to all of us". I wonder what would the politicians would do if we all stopped listening to them and just started treating people like, well, people???? Excellent quotes! Blessings!

No, I didn't as far as I know, but I can imagine the amount of messages they get, and your message may still be "in transit". Blessings to you.

Starfish are destroying the coral. We are living in a world where the point of balance for life to continue is sharp. Move the fulcrum a little either way and disaster! We visited the Sequoias in June. So many were dead from climate change which brought about drought, fire and insect infestation. So sad. And now we are going to exacerbate the natural loss of trees by going back to paper bags. Hasn't anyone heard of bamboo as an alternative? It grows really fast and can be used for most of the things wood has been used for and is even better in most cases.
Wishing you happy alternatives.

I'm with you, pixipixil. Bamboo and hemp. But it seems as though the U.S., a powerful entity in earth's affairs, has changed from "a government of the people, by the people and for the people" into a government of the corporations, by the corporations and for the corporations, there will be more of the actions that harm the environment. We must vote and then give our elected input as to what we feel they should do on climate issues. I think the young folks coming to age 18 by the next election, due to Parkland and their social media connections, will exercise their rights, vote, and we'll see the wheel start to take a different spin. May be slow at first, but I do believe it will happen. And, if those apathetic people who gripe and complain because they don't like what's happening will get off their complacent behinds and vote, it would do a world of good, too. 'Nuff of my bandwagon. Have a happy, pixipixil.

My granddaughter is starting transferring from our junior college to the University of California at Davis majoring in environmental toxicology. I am so very proud of her! She is an honor student and even got a small college grant from NASA! We need young people like her to find ways to undo the damage we did not know we were doing for the past however many centuries.

Hi pixi, I think you will find it is the crown of thorns starfish which are destroying coral, especially on the Great Barrier Reef, not the one pictured which is harmless to the coral.

Same thoughts as yours on going plastic free. And where does it stop. Just think about all the products sealed in plastic!!! Sometimes I wonder if these people who make such decision are sitting on their brains. They are even doing away with plastic straws here in Australia so my best friend and I are busy buying up all the plastic straws (NOT) and will sell them on the black market and make a fortune hehehehehe. Hugs. Pixi.

It's like getting people to wear seat belts. Remember how long that took? Recycle and you can use most anything but you have to be assiduous in recycling. I'm beginning to finally wash and recycle my aluminum foil. No matter what you are involved in, if it doesn't cycle it leads to a dead (literally) end.
Right on Luvswesterns. Maybe we need to start way before elections so we don't have all bad choices next time around.
NLB tell your granddaughter bravo from me.
I realized that wasn't the "bad" starfish but it made me think of it anyway. Doesn't mean I had anything against the photo puzzle. It ws a nice picture. Couldn't remember the name of the bad one. Thanks for reminding me Aussie. Hugs to you and here's hoping your country can save the barrier reef from it.
