Oh that caramel topping does look good! As a kid my favourite cake was "German chocolate". What made it "German" I don't know.

It's the chocolate that is from Germany. My son's German wife had never heard of German chocolate cake!

Actually, I looked it up...the idea of the coconut/condensed milk filling for a chocolate cake was first done by a Mr Samuel German in the USA in 1852. Originally sold as "German's Chocolate Cake."

Wow! I did not know that. And all this time I was giving credit to the chocolate from Germany. Never too old to learn.

Fun isn't it--Mr Google knows almost everything! Once in awhile I stump him--and I'm always surprised.

That's interesting about the cake. I have learned so much since I got a computer. I subscribe to many emails about science and animals and the world.

Yum, good for the taste disastrous for the waist lol and sugar levels.

Thanks to all who prayed for my visit to the doctor today and I got a miracle, the skin cancer had disappeared and I put that down to prayer and Golden Seal herbal ointment which I think is an Australian product, has golden seal and tea tree oil in it. I was something my husband left behind when he moved out and I put it on a wart which had come up on my chest and within a short period of time, the wart disappeared. My niece used it on a plantar wart my great niece had on her foot and the wart fell off. I have been using it on the skin cancer for a few weeks and today the doctor could not even find it. But still refuses to believe it was the ointment together with my lovely praying friends. WOOHOO and PTL.

Thank you all again and God bless you. Hugs.

I see they have it on Amazon, or you could look in herbal shops.

That is good news, AS!! I may see if I can get it for the lichenform excema on my face. I've tried just about everything. Once I get a patch healed up it doesn't come back in the same place, but the trick is to get it to heal up.

Wonder if it works on skin tags? Will try to find something similar at our natural market and if no luck, will hit Amazon.

This is my second post - the first one disappeared.

Thank you all so much. The Golden Seal I purchased is made here in Brisbane, but I am sure that you will be able to pick up something similar over your way. In a bit of a hurry this morning, but will get a list of ingredients later in the day. From memory it has tea tree oil, golden seal and a little bit of alcohol in it, but will confirm that later today (Saturday). Thank you all so much for your prayers and love, it means a lot to me and thank God that I didn't have to go through the pain of having it removed. He is a miracle working God who loves all of His children. Hugs.

Aknan - I have a skin tag I have been working on, just need to be persistent in the application of the ointment. I also cover it with a band aid or bandage as you call them. It is getting smaller, but seems to be taking a bit longer than other things. Got you email and will write this weekend sometime. I need to do a bit of gardening this morning, mostly replanting hippeastrums and then have a few other things I purchased last week for $2.00 each, a gazania, dianthus, mini zinnia and a couple of red geraniums. So that will keep me busy lol. Hugs.

AS, is the golden seal in Australia the same one we have in N. America? Latin name Hydrastis canadensis.

Sounds about right, the one I use is locally made and no longer available, but my sister found a similar one and that is the one my great niece used on the plantar wart which came off. I also discovered another warty thing I have been treating is no longer there this morning. PTL. Hugs.

Mmmmm!!! I love any types of sponge cake, especially when there is cream on it. It looks delicious.

Three months ago I was diagnosed as having Breast Cancer. A month later I had a mastectomy. No treat required and the good news I am completely free of cancer. I am happy. God bless you all.

It is a very light cake and if you say boo while it is in the oven, it will collapse. My mother used to make them and I can remember that we were not to make a noise or it would spoil. She was a good cook, unlike me lol. Hugs Darambo
