Beautiful and I am sure it tastes as good as it looks.

"When we trust a person we think that they are with us forever to share our pain and happiness but time reminds us that tasty fruits are only seasonal." Unknown

"I wonder who the first person was to see an egg come out of a chickens butt and think...'That looks tasty, I'm gonna eat that.'" Unknown

LOL sorry folks, I guess that was tasteless.

Hugs.

Aussie, I often wonder who was the first in many thing concerning food, who was the first to try berries and how many chose the wrong ones, different fruits, to boil water and cook with it, etc etc etc It would be great to know for they were true pioneers and hero's. Any answers please let us know....

I don't think that was tasteless - I wonder about things like fairly often. How did early humans know what was safe to eat? Did people try eating grass for example because so many animals were eating grass?

If you watch toddlers they seem to learn by putting stuff in their mouths. I wouldn't be surprised if it were trial and error, but also, as Jamie points out, watching the animals. We are ape descendants so they undoubtedly passed on thier predilections.
I wonder about how people figured out special preparations that make poisonous stuff edible--blowfish, but especially taro which is a huge South American and Asian staple.

Hey that's a good question Aussie. It really does make you wonder. What would we do without eggs?

There was a line in a TV show where one character asks another "How desperate must a person have been to be the first to eat a snail? "

Eggs and chicken are a cook's blank canvas; so versatile, and they take on the flavours you cook them with!

I also wonder who was the first person to look at a sea urchin and say: "It has spines, and if you get stuck, the wound infects. The innards taste like addled eggs--let's have them for lunch! "

Orinoco, how do you addle an egg for eating? All that I've heard is to cover the shell with oil so the embryo can't get oxygen and therefore won't hatch.

Aussi..........I have one for you...
What is greater than God
More evil than the devil
The poor have it
The rich need it
And if you eat it, you'll die.
(answer will be on tomorrows puzzle)

Aknan, sorry--I meant that people tell me that sea urchin tastes "kind of like rotten eggs" (addled = rotten). Not a taste I'd care to try, but the people who told me that seem to love em.
