It's supposed to warm up some where I live too. We'll be out of the frigid cold for the next at least 4 days and the snow will melt. I think we're supposed to get a soaking rain which will probably take away whatever hasn't melted by then.

Yeah - Why because you're snowed in? I've had days were we were snowed in. I've dealt with extreme cold and wind as well. Delivered newspapers as a kid and one day it was -35 with a windchill factor of -70. Certainly wouldn't want myself or animals to be outside in this severe cold.

It's warming up here. Rain is arriving but it'll turn to freezing rain. That means the snow will disappear but then we'll have a skating rink on top. A-salting we will go. I also have grips with little ice picks that fit over my shoes. It means I grip the ice and don't slide. Such a good idea!
So lovely and cool looking - would be wonderful to be somewhere close as hot as it has been today.
