I'm all spruced up and pining for you, because I didn't cedar note you left fir me that said I was barking up the wrong tree if I thought yew would ever go with me, so I should stop needling yew.
Our first frost hit and overnight the weather has gotten nippy. The frost on the still green grass looked so pretty as the sun was rising and causing the fall colors to glow. Have a beautiful day/evening all. Has anyone else noticed how big Venus is looking in the sky at night?

Aussie --just for you.
You need to watch it when you back out of your drive. Eucalyptus on the right fender yesterday. No big deal tho. We had the same color paint so it didn't show.

Hi abacii - pipped at the post lol.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree. Joyce Kilmer

God bless you all, have a great day. Hugs.

I'm sure someone else may remember this poem as a beautiful song. It was very popular in the early 1900s, my Dad used to play it a lot on our piano and it still gives a tug to my heart when I hear it-but of course, I only hear it on music sites, where I can save so many of those wonderful old songs, and play them back whenever I choose!! Like Church in the Wildwood, Yesterday, Annie Laurie, Mother McCree (forgot how to spell) etc. I'm in my mid 80s, and still love them all.

Thank you all for your comments - it was written a long time ago by Joyce Kilmer and I could only remember the first two lines, so googled it (wonderful tech info tool) and put the whole lot in. We are a long way from the bushfires but feel for those who have lost their homes and some of the fires were deliberately lit by an 11 and a 15 yo who have been arrested. And on a positive note, the company who manufactured our fridge is replacing it. So some good news at last.

Also on a lighter note, electricity and water rates are soaring here, so far we have managed to keep our electricity bill down, but our water bill was getting out of hand, so we decided to buy a water tank. We got a special offer on a 3, 000 litre tank and only saw a picture of it - bad thing to do!! We already had a cement slab on which to put the tank but it was a bit difficult to get to. It came yesterday and it is humungous!!! And the guy who delivered it just lowered it over the fence and left it there!!! My husband tried to move it with a little help from yours truly, but it was an absolute fiasco. It is the length of the house from where it sits at the moment with two pergolas to traverse and gardens in the paving lol. We are trying to get some help with it, but so far no luck. We had no idea how big a 3000 litre tank was but if and when it rains, hopefully it will lower our water bill as I plan on using it to water the garden. It can also be hooked up to the toilet and washing machine which is where most of our water goes. Lots of fun. God bless and hugs all round.

I think I remember it as a song, too, jimlahar. It is a lovely poem, and any one who loves trees just has to love that poem too. On target as usual, Aussie.
On our news cast tonight they were reporting the fires had been caused by military maneuvers where live ordinance had been set off. Neither prospect is very encouraging is it?

That sound horrendus, you should have made him help you two move it into postion, though that is a good price for a water tank!

Aussie that reminds me of one time when I bought a freezer at an auction and we got there too late to look at it first. It was such a monster and so old fashioned we paid for it but never took it. There was no way for us to use it. I hope you have better luck finding a way to position it. Maybe it could be flopped over onto a heavy mat and have that winched so it gets pulled to the spot. I have no idea how you could hoist it. I have four rain barrels for my garden as we have well water that used to run out in the summer. Once they forced most of the hamlet to go on city water we had plenty of well water so I still hook them up but haven't needed to use them for a few years now.

Hope all went well Philip. I have a great dentist, a giant of a man and so very gentle. Doesn't even have to deaden my gums when I have a filling. Amazing man.

All ready been there yesterday & today. Crown fell off, but not enought without build up left so now have pin and new build will get the new crown in Nov. The bad part is that this year we did not have dental, coverage (not offereed thru husbands co.) But we do have a whole new plans effective the first of the year. Better coverage for less. Change in the retiree coverages. Just wish we had it this year. Will be thinking of you...
