Another beautiful place. I am so glad that my husband like to travel too. I sure enjoyed it and his company. I would travel still but do not have a travel buddy any more. I have wonderful memories though.
Recon how often the residence went to different rooms. they could sleep in a different room for lots of nights. wouldn't it be wonderful to be a child and play hide-in-seek in the many rooms.
This is such a beautiful palace, but I don't know how anyone could use 1000 rooms. There's a zoo on the grounds - at least there was one in 1989. The color, Maria-Teresa Yellow, is very popular in Austria, especially where the Habsburgs had residences. Many of the rooms were designed so that the servants could add fuel to the stoves without being noticed by openings in the wall behind the stove.
