The venus fly trap plant emits a putrid smell. Went to an aquarium where this plant was located.

I really like carnivorous plants like the pitcher plant and the Venus Fly-Trap (I used to have some). I'm not sure if I'm in the best environment for these plants, but they help keep down the number of flies and some other insect pests.

This particular picture looks more like a pipe than a pitcher but there are different "configurations" that look more like pitchers. Ain't nature wonnerful?

I googled it and found that among many other attributes it is carnivorous! As you said, "...very interesting..." Fascinating plant.

Yeah, reminds me of Venus Flytrap. It has the same sort of "feelers" or "teeth" that the Flytrap has--also carnivorous.
