Gorgeous Blue Crane. Sure looks like Spring or Summer where it is. I'm ready for either. This frigid cold is not for me!

I don't believe it! How did you become a hockey fan? Field hockey not ice hockey? Well I sure do agree-these temps are for the penguins.

Hockeyfan, are you one of the thousands hit by this nasty cold front/snow in the US? Hope all is well with you and yours, and anyone else affected by the horrid temps! I'm in the NW, so we rarely, if ever, see those kinds of temps/snow level.

Yes, we are! We are in what they call the Mid Ohio Valley, along the Ohio River. We usually never get these bad temps. It will be cold and snowy, but rarely ever ice and dangerous cold temps. We are prepared, thank goodness, so we won't have to go out, unless we lose our heat. Thank you for your well wishes. :)

Pixipixil, I love ice hockey, but very rarely go to a game in the arenas. Mostly watch on tv, but the arenas are cold but not freezing. Never have to wear gloves, or scarf. Just jacket with sweater and jeans. Infact, my team, the Pittsburgh Penguins are playing right now. GO PENGUINS. :)

Hi Hockeyfan, Well, it is very nice here today, not to rub it in. 81 degrees F. But tonight we are getting rain and our temps will drop, a front is coming through. We'll have a high on Monday of 69 degrees, low of 32 degrees. We'll be bring in the plant pots for a couple of nights. Stay warm.
The Blue Crane is beautiful. We have Sand Hill Cranes in our area. They come by and feed as we do not spray pesticides. Saw my first Robin today, at bit early. That guy is in for a shock when the cold rolls in. Have a great day. :)

Hi Hockeyfan; I've done some ice skating and know what you mean. I was just trying to get a rise out of you. I haven any interest in hockey but I'll be glad to join your voice--Go Penguins!! Thursday we were at a high of 0 so we stayed inside. It's gonna be a wild next 24. We start with freezing rain, rise to 40's so rain, drop to 20's so snow and get colder for a few days.

Hooray! Glad your team won. I don't get excited over team sports. I like the artistic ones. Looking forward to the ice skating on the Olympic coverage.

Hi tomandray. Love the opening and closing ceremonies both. Thank heavens for the Winter Olympics with being stuck in the house and nothing good on to watch......hockey of course! :) Beautiful sunny day today but freezing, and tomorrow a whooping 38 degrees and also sunny. Thank goodness. :) Good evening to you too.

Hi Hockeyfan--Me too. Spent oodles of hours at the roller rink.

Hi pixipixil, still have my skates. They are very worn. Our rink is still open, but nothing like it was "back then". They speed skate and let them bring in roller blade skates. The floor is rough. What a shame....

The only good rink is 45 minutes from us. It's small but maintained. Deciding to invest a whole afternoon skating is hard for me since time always seems at a premium. I can probably do an easy spin or two but who knows. I miss being able to jump. I could probably do a pairs spin or two also but I don't think I could do lifts. My shoulders go out of joint these days.

That's great. I have a fear of falling, but we did dance skating. Did you have that? we had a skate club for many years. My cousin was fantastic, but I wasn't nearly as good as she. She still skates and does the dances, but I only go once or twice a year. The only afternoon skating is on Sundays. Wow, happy someone else enjoyed skating. :)

Hockeyfan: When I was in my teens and early twenties it was my life. I was part of a club, too. I earned all the proficiencies in dance but only medaled in free style except for one year when we won regionals in junior. I skated everything but speed and hockey. As for falling, I think a fear of it is healthy. I only hurt myself once when I was doing a jump spin and slipped on the floor. I came down with my leg wrong and it dislocated my knee.

Pixipixil, that is wonderful to have earned all the proficiencies and medaled. To this day, when I hear a song that we did the waltz or tango to, the memories are there. I still have my old medal skate box that I keep my skates in. Those were great times. :)

Hi vmarie: I like the elegance of the bird and the colors but as for time--the background did me in.

I keep playing the Classic 48 cut and have the shapes and positions of the pieces partly memorized. Eventually, memorization will achieve low time allotments.

I am an artist and find the training that hexagon gives (which forces me to only work via the picture) helps in painting landscape where it really is an assembly of a variety of abstract patterns.
Good luck with your quet for a winning time, vmarie.

Quest. These spell programs are really getting out of hand. I never know what kind of crazy word they are likely to substitute when I do one of my numerous typos.
