When I clicked on this, wasn't sure what it was, but I hadn't done this one before. I usually don't do them twice--not with so many to choose from. It is a weird puzzle that was quick to do.

I did our cards last night. For the past 15 or 20 years I've made ours and they are always nativity scenes. Except for one year when I sent out cards that had a somewhat goofy looking moose with Christmas tree lights all tangled in its antlers 'cause that's the way I felt that year.

Why should the "Goofy looking moose" not celebrate as well, it is his Creator God also.

This is a topic I can empathize with. My husband only wants religious cards but sometimes a winter scene will say more to me about the beauty of the season and the inner peace it offers than some gaudy depiction of the three kings or an overly cute shepherd boy. If a moose is from the heart then it's better than something religious you don't feel.

I have not had the mindset or energy to put into the Christmas season for years. This year has been full of pain and loss and change. This year I could not wait to put up a tree and decorate. Instead of presents, I placed my nativity collection under the tree. And after more years than I can count I am mailing out Christmas cards. In fact, I am making my own to send out. Pictures of me and my dog on the front and a Christian message inside. God's presence is truly with me this year. God bless you all and hope your holidays - Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Years, and any others I may have forgotten. Peace on earth, Good will toward men. - nlb

Lydiagintn, please forgive my ignorance: Chanukah, Hanukkah, is there a difference besides the spelling? I think I heard somewhere it was mostly a regional difference. And I may never have heard that at all, just think I did. Correct or incorrect?

No difference, nlbuchanan! Since it's a transliteration of Hebrew, it can be spelled pretty much anyishl way you "hear" it. In Hebrew, the CH is that funny gutteral sound for which there is no letter in English, so when you see an H or a Ch in English for a Hebrew word, you use the gutteral Ch, like coughing something up or relieving a throat tickle!!!! Another example that most people have heard is the toast "Le Chaim! " which means To Life, which some people spell L' Hayim....all the same!
