Very different, but beautiful picture. Saw the eclipse--not full in Florida. Saved the glasses so I can look at the sun any time I wish!

I watched the eclipse through my bedroom window and on TV. We had 90% darkness so it didn't get as dark as it did north of here. But the temperature dropped about 10 degrees, and my cat jumped up onto the bed and snuggled in under my arm like he does at night. When it was over, it warmed up as fast as it had cooled down. Then the cat jumped down! I wish I had felt good enough to go outside...one of the reporters said to take a colander and let the sun shine through it down on the ground. Lots and lots of little eclipses! Oh well, maybe next time. Lol! I wonder what it looks like from heaven???

To my OK friend. I shepherded both my dogs & me in my bedroom, pulled the shades down, and turned on air conditioner. GUESS WHAT? We all fell asleep & missed the hoopla. Shame on me--they have huge observatory at Brown Univ. & right in my home town. Oh well, I'm Sure I will live to 2024 (yeah, right). At least the only person who looked at the sun directly was our President; that is until Melania yanked his arm & Secret Service had to go find some glasses (nice job for $160, 000 per year including overtime! Oh, my son is now in North Dakota--how about your son?

This week he as been in the N.eastern part of Oklahoma, but he started out in the W. southern part of OK in Lawton. Haven't seen him for the last few days, I think he may be in N. W. Arkansas for a day or so, but I think his last site is in one just to the suburb just N. W. from us. Guess we will have him here for the weekend. Good to hear from you! The weather here has been very muggy here, had storm again lot of rain, wind & lightening. Had a strike near us, you could feel it & things went out for just a second or so. Think we will be have a few days without storms, August is usually one of the months that we normally have much rain. I also so think the temps are suppose be in the 80's this week, which is not normal for us, usually in upper 90's & 100's. Got my ann. Dr. visit over doing fine, just have mammg. tomorrow & I'm done for this year.

Hi Cat Lady-I think the young men grow up somewhat when they leave the nest for a while-but like a boomerang-always come home. This was a surprize--yest. our humidity was 97%. No wonder I had such a doozy headache. Congrats on your medical outcomes. I guess the theory about strong midwestern women is true!!!

Cat Lady- that is a wonderful end to your story- beats worrying. Perhaps she will need a teacher's assistant & that could be you! Best to all!

Also got the rest of my tests, just fine again! No don't need anymore to do. Hubby is enough and having son here off & on as he in here for the next two years that's enough for me. I like my free time to puzzle & read books, & help w/some of keeping the yard up! I keep reminding all of my family that I'm RETIRED!!!

Apart from the heather, it looks like parts of the outback in Australia.

QUOTES - "You can't win enough, you can't have enough money, you can't succeed enough. There is not enough. The only thing that will ever satiate that existential thirst is love. And I just remember that day I made the shift from wanting to be a winner to wanting to have the most powerful, deep, and beautiful relationships I could possibly have." ~ Will Smith
As Wayne Dyer said, "When I chased after money, I never had enough. When I got my life on purpose and focused on giving of myself and everything that arrived into my life, then I was prosperous."

I don't want to be remembered. I want the nice words when I can hear them. Jerry Lewis

I've had great success being a total idiot. Jerry Lewis

Another great entertainer lost.

Take care and God bless. Hugs.

Aussie, what does the outback really look like? What is its role in the eco-system? What kind of animals live there? Is it close to where you live? Maybe I should get over to the library-BUT NOT TODAY-it's Eclipse Day! Peace & hugs.

Hi BayGrannie - very dry, very hot, and desert everywhere. It is a huge expanse and for the most part non-inhabitable. I know there is life in this arid part of Australia but cannot tell you exactly what. Most people live around the coast of Australia. If you google Alice Springs then you will find out something of the outback. Thanks for your interest. Hugs.
