Going to a freinds house for a quiet New Years! Most years lately we go home before midnight--tired since we are all in our 80's. It's in the neighborhood so that's good!

Happy New Year and stay safe to all puzzlers in front and in back of the computer monitor. Anybody ever read the narrative poem Gawain and the Green Knight? It starts and ends on Christmas but to me it's more a New Year's story. It shows God's mercy to us when we fail ourselves.
I have never heard of the poem you mentioned. It sounds good to me. I will be staying home by myself tonight. Not a good night to be out. Very cold and prediction of snow. Good movies and popcorn sounds good. God bless everyone and be safe out there.
