Definitely a challenge.
My sister-in-law is getting a bowel resect today. I'd appreciate prayers for her.
It's just her and my brother out in AZ. Her nurse sister and doctor brother-in-law who lived there left to join a cult in Ohio. It would have eased my mind to have had them near her.
I offered to fly out but they feel they can handle things on their own.
I just hope she comes through it without any nasty surprises.
Hoping you all are feeling energetic today.

O just heard from my brother. His wife got through fine but the surgery that normally takes three hours took five. They removed a foot of intestine and she'll be on a colostomy bag for six months and then have to have another operation.
I'm relieved she's out but oh what a horrible summer is coming for her.

Pixipixil, Prayers going out to your sis-in-law and brother, they will both need the strength to get through it all. The hospital stay alone is extremely trying. I know, recently been there, was so glad to be home after 12 days. Good luck to them both.

Tomandray what were you in for? That's a terribly long stay. Gald you are home and thank you for the prayers. prayers going up for you now.
I was amazed that with as serious an operation as she had, my sister-in-law is due to come home today. In six months (approx) she will have another operation to finish things.

Well, finally getting back to both of you, nearly forgot to reply.
TO Pixipixil...I could not eat or drink a thing that didn't come shooting right up. My body was no longer processing food. It just shut down. I was in ICU for 3 days; they removed, via tubing through the nose and down the stomach, 3 quarts of mucus slim, all green. I was on a strict liquid diet throughout my stay in the hospital.

We finally celebrated my birthday on Tuesday, APRIL 2. I was much to sick to go out to eat on my birthday. I have been on a restricted diet since coming home from the hospital on Feb. 10th. I have been recuperating at home since then, eating solid food has been good...I am very careful of what I eat. I will be sick again if I am not careful. I have gained weight since my hospital stay, from 106 lbs to 128 lbs. today. A GOOD IMPROVEMENT! :) :)
I still have no answers from my hospital doctors, just many results from tests and all the notes from the doctors. They have no name for what I have. They call me a "special case". I must go to my next 2 appointments to see 2 doctors on April 29 and the Tampa Bay Hospital, specialist on May 29. Hopefully I will have some answers and resolve to my problems.
Thank GOD it is "Spring Time" again, we can all enjoy the warm sun and the beautiful flowers, enjoy! :)

Just read your comment about your sister-in-law's operation. I had the same exact surgery in 1989. I had 12 inches of my colon removed, but fortunately I did not leave the hospital with a colostomy bag. I did however, learn that I had Crohn's disease. I am now in semi-remission, but am on a fairly strict diet. All dairy, nuts and anything with seeds are a no-no, but on no medication for years now. It's been over a year since your sister-in-laws surgery, so hope she's doing very well. Let me know.

Yes, she's fine and as far as I know isn't restricted the way you are. Hers was from a diverticulitis attack. Whatever bug caused it damaged her intestine...and I'm pretty sure it was a disease and not just a food reaction. Anyway she doesn't seem to have a chronic condition the way you and tomandray do so she's "back to normal." She didn't even know she had diverticulosis so she hadn't a clue the problem arose from that.

Wow..why did I start this at 8:00 p.m. Yep, I was determined to finish, so my cat better not wake me up at her usual 6:00 a.m. tomorrow. So now that I'm finished belly-aching, I must say I enjoyed this puzzle, as difficult as it was.

Good morning to all. I found that puzzle very challenging, took me a while, but by the time I finished I was totally awake. Aussie loved the quotes today. I love to laugh and can find humor in just about everything and sometimes at the wrong time and place. I consider it one of my strengths and also one of my weaknesses. Got into an a very loud disagreement with our postmaster yesterday about our mail carrier and even though we had proof of what we were saying she lied and covered for the carrier, so now will go over her head and make a formal complaint. You all be safe and take care.

Sometimes you have to go to the head to get things to move on to a better service. Good luck!

Our complaints to the District Manager for the PO here resulted in two more counter clerks and the repair of a door that kept opening and closing on its own, resulting in some nasty bruises on a lady's arm. Complaints work when directed to the right person. Good luck, darambo!

They also say that laughter is the best medicine. I just need to find something to laugh at besides myself. Have a blessed day.

Mamag nothing at all wrong with laughing at yourself, I do it all the time. I find a lot of times it helps me relieve stress or pressure....even if I'm not the cause or reason for the stress. Take care and be safe.
